He wants to work, turned their season around, when it looked hopeless. It's ridiculous that he wouldn't be offered the job if he wanted it, he's earned that much.

Understand, amd agree.

That's not really my point

It's much more about there needing to be an age in my opinion where the law no longer allows it (work),outside of extremis, and I'm not necessarily talking those people who are self-employed, which might be a cop out on my part

It's not going to happen, so it's just my view.

I dunno man, I don't think so. I think of you're physically able to, and there's a want to do it, then have it. There won't be many people his age that have that drive anymore, especially at the top level. And it's a cut throat business, if he gets dotey, he'll be gone without hesitation.

Again, it's not really about O'Neil. I'm using him as an example as opposed to necessarily digging at the man himself.

Good player but a fair number of question marks remain, not least can he make the transition.

If we didn't already have 3 or 4 youngsters and two. 17th placed finishes it would seem too good a possibility to decline, but....
He will be ok for them, nothing ground shaking. He's a skilful player but me thinks the step up will be too much.

Good luck to the lad, though 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Think its more likely to go the otherway, work till you drop for most.

Because international friendlies are nothing like the PL

I have seen him play many times in the Bundesliga last season, he made it to the Bundesliga's team of the season. He scored six goals, in twenty eight appearances, this at just nineteen years of age.

Then again we could always bring on Davies in an emergency, be it an injury, or suspension.

And before you say the Bundesliga is a weaker league then why are so many other teams interested in him?

To be honest, the goalscoring thing is just a bonus. First and foremost, he needs to be able to be able to defend, and play football under the higher pressure, physically tougher, faster pace and generally better quality of forward of the PL.

Silly comment. I don't want Davies anywhere near our team and haven't for a long time. Doesn't mean I want a kid who isn't quite ready for it either.

I like the Bundesliga, and you'll never hear me slagging other leagues or their players off. I didn't mention the BL, I just don't think using highlights from an international friendly are pointless, it's as far from PL football as you can get.

As far as the kid goes, he clearly has some good qualities, fairly comfortable on the ball, wins aerial duels in both boxes, and has that set piece threat, but I still think his lack of burst pace is a concern in the PL. If he stays part of the group, I'll hope he does well, but I won't mind him going out on loan again and learning some more of his trade. I think we should have done the same with Bergval, Tel, Odobert and Gray too.
