Yeah, that's what the Wife told me as well...

Nah mate he's unnecessary big for a full back was just comparing different sports who have full backs as a position.

And rugby by comparison because of the physical nature of the sport are a lot bigger and his weight is more comparable to rugby full backs than football.
TBH, that really shouldn't make a difference. Rugby players go through the stop/start, explosive sprinting, change of direction at pace etc that Football players do. It's just that they don't have hamstrings made out of wet tissue paper.

In rugby the ball is in play for about 30 mins and half of that is probably in the scrum. Backs in rugby are a lot less active than footballers and are bigger to withstand collisions

Football on average is in play for 60 minutes. Reece James sprinting up and down the flank at 90kg for that long is definitely an issue for him, he's about 15-20kg heavier than the average prem full back and it has no benefit for him in the sport he plays.

Fair point.

its a joke how important this kid is to our midfield now. jesus christ his legs are vital to us. get the kid on a proper contract not only does he deserve it but we need him tied down and appreciated.

I disagree, Rugby players are nowhere near as agile as footballers (only the really small ones do), and they don't have to turn on a dime and come to a screetching halt the way footballers do.
