I said elsewhere it happens too often for it to be not by design. He never chases that diagonal pass out to the winger. Always waits for it to be controlled before going to engage. I think he must be told to play that way.

I'd agree, but the fact is I never see him out there when the ball arrives. And he often has time to. I don't understand it, just what I see happening.

Which is kind of illustrative of something...that anyone with eyes can see the talent. Talent that for some strange reason seems unable to deliver in the current setup. But Real Madrid do me a favour. He isn't good enough defensively right now.

Madrid want Trent as their first choice. They had Marcelo for years who was basically a winger.
You can get away with barely defending when you play for Real Madrid.

I enjoyed that and I really enjoyed Romero’s yellow too. Getting stuck in while totally outplaying them was class. I said before the game if we stopped Rogers they don’t have too much. Bentancur first half was dominant in being aggressive and winning that battle. We showed every quality yesterday from being good on the ball,aggressive off it,clinical and a mentality to not panic when we were 1-0 down.

where are people getting this 75m from? Madrid won't be paying 75m for any of our defenders.
He’s a very good footballer especially when compared to some of the fucking donkeys we’ve had out there. Our system and coaching isn’t set up to be defensively solid, that’s not his fault.
