Player Pedro Porro

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Judging by Spence's display at RB on Saturday, Porro is in no danger of losing his spot.

We have a good squad and 3 excellent full back who need to be utilised properly. If we are smart about things then Djed should always play against tricky wingers whilst Porro should play in matches where we need to open up the opposition.

Agree with this. Again looks to be a poor decision by Frank. I get Porro needs a rest, but surely you want the more technical and creating fullback playing against Wolves.

Mind you, it's easy in hindsight and before the game you'd have hoped Spence would perform, and he didn't. Though he wasn't the only one.

Come on now.
First goal, both he and Johnson went running at fullback rather than covering player who scored.
Second goal, not worth of comment. Yes, it was stupid from Vicario and unfortunate from Spence, but to get dribbled easily as that. Poor, poor defender. Along with Danso, they knew where they can give us problems. And they did.

He has to be insanely good attacking right back for me to give him some pass on defensive side. And he’s not.

Man's thick as fuck. Football's Karl Pilkington. His brain is like a friggin orange.

Worst defender I've seen at the club for a long while. Makes Aurier look like Maldini.

He is what he is. Good passer and crosser character so will have folk in love with him. But he's a terrible rightback. Im also worried constantly swapping sides is not helping Spence iron out the rough edges in his game. Porro is an offensive weapon only.

I like him (most days) but he has his faults in defending too. Those 2 bodo goals for example.

He's on 85K/week now. I'd be ok with 110-120K but he's not good enough to get 150K+/week like Kudus, Romero and Xavi are on.

And his current contract expires when he's 28, almost 29, so I wouldn't add on more than 2 years. He's an excellent passer but I don't know if he makes it past age 31 in the PL. He can only play one position and it's a pace dependent position. You don't see many 30+ aged fullbacks on top teams.

Porro was hailed as Spain’s best player by the national media in their 2-0 win over Georgia over the weekend, with the 26-year-old being praised for both his offensive and defensive qualities.

It was more of the same for the former Sporting Lisbon man, who delivered another stellar performance to help La Roja overcome Bulgaria 4-0 at Valladolid on Tuesday.

Tottenham star Pedro Porro hailed as the undisputed starter for Spain

Porro had struggled for a long time to make himself a regular starter for his national side, but there is no doubt that he has now made the right-back spot his own.

The Spanish media are convinced that the Tottenham man will be Spain’s main right-back ahead of Dani Carvajal heading into next summer’s World Cup.

Mundo Deportivo said about Porro’s performance against Bulgaria: “Just as he did against Georgia, he once again launched several crosses into the box, creating danger. It’s one of his strengths that will help him deprive Carvajal of the starting right-back spot.”

El Demarque rated the full-back at seven out of 10 and wrote: “Once again, he was very incisive on the right flank with good crosses that were just barely headed in by teammates. He wasn’t pushed very hard in defence, but when he was, he did well.”

Marca said about Porro’s display on Tuesday: “Another opportunity for the Spurs full-back, awaiting any competition from Carvajal. He provided a strong attacking presence against a dedicated opponent. A good arrival as soon as the match restarted, with a back pass for Baena to arrive.”
