Will also always remember his goal vs. Man City as well, but does the fact he did the exact opposite later on, scoring an own goal against the same team that handed them CL qualification even things out?

Amazing to think how influential he was to our first ever CL campaign. Of course he scored the goal at City to help clinch qualification to the CL qualifiers, but he also got a hattrick in the play off home game after we lost the away tie 3-2, then 3 goals in the group stage, and of course the winner in the San Siro and only goal of the tie against AC Milan which took us into the quarters.

Then had a brainfart at the Bernabau and got himself sent off which totally ruined any small hope we had :crouch:

Thanks for the memories Crouchy. Genuinely a good guy

He's the fans perfect team member. As you quite rightly say, not the most gifted, but he always put a shift in. As a supporter you cannot choose who is in the team but as long as I see everyone walking off that pitch knackered because they've given everything out there I can ask for no more. Crouchy was one such player. Good luck to the man....

How could anyone dislike Crouchy ?

Swear they always stick him with the smallest people :ange-facepalm:
That cock puppet on the right can’t be more than 4ft10 ffs, what are they thinking

and vs City. The scenes were immense. It prompted me to buy the under arm piss stained shirt signed and now framed by all the squad! I have a few of these, it's the only one that's no hung on the wall. LOL
I didn't make to Manchester game to qualify us to champions League but was out in Milan for the game and even though the city is shit that we remain one my favourite nights @ football.

Yes - 12 league goals in 72 games when you had a support system of Bale,VDV, Lennon and Modric tells it’s own story. Terrible touch, zero pace, poor technique - he wasn’t even a great header of the ball given his height. His constant putting his tongue out at each fuck up seriously grated.
Yet Van Der Vaart puts him in the best XI of players he's played with. His play wasn't just about scoring, or else he obviously wouldn't have got near any of the starting line-ups for the teams he's played for

Good for VDV - I look at facts which show is goal per game ratio was abysmal, that his assist ratio ( not just about scoring) was abysmal and the game is littered with mediocre players playing for top sides. Crouch is certainly one of them.
