Ive got a couple here:

firstly, the dentist chair thing from euro 96..mate of mine (now dead) owned the dentist chair. he was working at China Jump at the time and stayed in contact with the owners. when they were closing it down, he bought the chair off them and had it shipped here. arrived just before his 40th, so it was unveiled at his party (in the pub he was running).

i got a damn sight more wasted than Sheringham did

meeting players:
I worked for the company that looked after all HP's UK PR, when they first sponsored us. (saw the pony kit mock ups about 6 months before it was all announced). So I managed to blag my way into helping out on team photo day. Don't think much of footballers. seem to be a collection of wazzock's with one or two exceptions. (Mabbut and Thorstvedt were gentlemen). Did get to say hello to Bill Nicholson that day though. nearly pissed my pants with excitement.

I saw Mido with his missus and young daughter in a Pizza Express near Middlesbrough. Had a good chat with him. Very unaffected and polite. Top bloke.

Had Peter Crouch in my Cab,picked him up at Marylebone Station and went to a resteraunt in Chelsea with his Scouse missus and young daughter.
They spent most of the journey playing with their I phones, ignoring their girl, as he paid me the pushchair tipped up with all the designer bags on it , with Abbey Clancy still talking on her phone !
I did ask him for his monocle, he gladly obliged, but I didn't have the heart to ask him why Harry got rid of him ( Real Madrid ?) COYS

I went to school with Danny Thomas.
He had a couple of brothers who were both footballers and the older of the two, Valmore was in my year, Clive was a year younger and then Danny in the year below him. At lunch Danny would play football with Valmore (as you would only play with kids in your year) because he was just too good for the kids his age, and on several occasions I had the delight of watching him waltz past me with the ball welded to his feet. His talent was so incredible, you really would just stand and stare, he even made Valmore look shit - and he made it as a pro, until his knee packed up on him. To see Danny playing professionally as a full back always made me wonder just how good did people like Lennon and Defoe look as kids at school. His family were not well off and I had a good pair of addidas boots that I grew out of, without ever really wearing them, I gave them to him - fortunately he didn't sink to my level because of it.
Met Gary Lineker, queueing up outside Wembley for an FA cup final, chatted with him and his two boys (one of whom had just recovered from Leukaemia IIRC) for about 20 minutes. Couldn't speak highly enough of the guy, totally personable and chatty - not in the least stand offish or distant. He had just started working at the BBC and he was saying how hard he was finding it to be natural etc.
Met the whole Leeds first team at Doncaster station. I had just got in from watching Spurs play the goons at the library and Don Revie pulled me out of the phone box (I was getting my dad to come and collect me) telling me that Norman Hunter wanted to use the phone. I was too gobsmacked to tell him to knob off.
Got most of them to sign the match programme from the derby game, which earned me a fair amount of abuse. It was late season in 73 and we drew, Leeds had been playing in London on the same day.

Not Spurs related: Played in the same club as Sebastian Larsson as a teenager. When my team was a few players short in a game, he was called up. Even though he was 13 years old and the rest of us 17 (quite a big difference in that age) he did ok. And yes, he was a whiny **** even as a little kid. Just less flapping of the arms.

Spurs related: Ledley, Cliff Jones. True gentlemen.

Went to school with Dele Alli, he was in the year below I believe, quality lad, always played in our years squad(we tore it up, me on the right with most assists in the league every single year, that was the good days and this little pit bull in the middle shredding it up)always knew he was going places, that's probably why I see so highly of him, it's pretty cool seeing someone you've played with make it for not only your local club but also your favourite club! Despite not making it myself I'm proud of the lad and hope he becomes a legend here!

Met Gary Mabbutt on Sunday outside the torch , legend signed my shirt. Also many years ago when I was working at the royal polo Windsor dressed as a ninja (oriental theme) I had a play fight with Essien(top bloke) and gave Ian Wright (wanker)some abuse for being a gooner when he was trying to chat up to birds. Funniest story I heard was from a yid I met working in customs who said he stripped searched Cambell when he went through security.Legend

Was a mascot for us at home vs Fulham , August 30th 2003 shame we lost 3-0 though , Remember Jamie Redknapp being quite rude , Teddy was not playing for some reason that day and was told I would of had a much better day if Teddy was captain for the day , Postiga was a character in the changing rooms , Gary Mabbutt presented our trophies at a football tournament before , also met Glen Hoddle a few times

The biggest one for me is David Howells, when my Dad worked at the club as a groundsman he became close with a lot of the squad, mainly Howellsey, Nick Barmby and Darren Anderton.

As a result when I was a kid growing up I grew to know Howellsey as Uncle David and his ex-wife as Aunty Debbie. They are two of the loveliest people I have met and I have many fond memories of spending time at their house with the children they fostered.

My Dad is still close with Howellsey, Darren Anderton and more recently Teddy Sheringham, so I see them a couple of times a year for a drink or a BBQ.

Ive been lucky over the years as I have met many a Spurs player, started off back in the day when they used to have a Spurs supporters player of the year dinner dance every season. I went to a few over the years, you met all the players and get a chance to have a chat with them. The highlight for me though was meeting Bill Nicholson, what pleasure it was to meet him, a very humble man as well.
Picked up a few in the cab as well, including George Best!
