Agreed,

You might want to add another category for u21's

- under ECL rules are Skipp and Foyth, both important players so probably need to be included for completeness (and of course loads more in Spurs youth set up, just a question when to stop although Including Parrott due to his complicated rules situation is probably right), taking squad numbers up to 25.
- Under EPL rules Skipp, Sessegnon, Foyth (and even Parrott)

Skipp and of course all the other U21 players at Spurs for more than 2 years don't have to included in the ECL squad but Skipp in particular and maybe (but unlikely IMO) other Academy players could be involved in an ECL game.
Dream is of course to qualify early for the ECL knockouts and give opps.

Agreed, point I was trying to make (badly) is that the squad is a couple of players larger than listed

The more appearances the youngsters get, without taking undue risks, the happier I am, and more likely we will get a couple extra through to be permanently in the first tram squad which has to be good news given we need to add a few extra players in the next few years, and filling up home grown spots is an easy win for us.

We have 1 HG slot available in EL assuming Hart signs.
Rose is currently at Spurs and saying he will see out his contract here. Not sure if he will, but he'd be an extra Club trained player.......just a question of whether he's pissed off the rest of the dressing room and fans with his 'interviews' and statements over the last 2 or 3 years.......and dont think he pulled up that many trees on loan at Newcastle otherwise they would want him back and we'd be £5m/£10m better off.

I would suggest the players under threat are (in no order) Foyth, Aurier, Sissoko, Lamela depending upon who comes in - with uncertainty over whether anyone will offer us a big enough deal for Ndombele otherwise he stays and plays.

IMO we may need 3 GK's and given neither Whiteman or Austin have much experience its veery possible Gazzaniga may stay.

If Swansea are in a European Cup. Would they be representing England or Wales?

Its the fact that Swansea (and Cardiff) are affilated to the Football Association of Wales and not The FA which means that under UEFA rules, players who trained as youngsters at either of those clubs count as 'Overseas Trained'

Comment
So Wales then.
All the UEFA competitions award places on the basis of leagues or cups - so Swansea and Cardiff would represent the Championship atm (but likely only PL clubs go into europe) or if they win the FA Cup represent that cup ! .

Other Welsh clubs are affiliated to Cymru Premier (but they include one English team, The New Saints, as well !) or other leagues and may win a place in european competitions such as CL or EL.

Connors Quay Nomads from Cymru Premier are in the CL in 20/21, Barry Town and Bala Town in EL

Comment
If we are keeping Gedson Fernandes, I wonder if we register him to play in PL and domestic cups where he will be an u21, but not register him in europa league (where he would take up an overseas trained player place).

Would 'free up' an overseas trained player place in EL squad ?!

I don't know why I was under the impression that Foyth arrived young enough to be an HGP, but I was. Since he's not, it's really probably time to ship him on.

But we really need senior HGP's if we're ever going to fill out a squad. Rose and Carter-Vickers both qualify if either of them have a future at Spurs, Tanganga is a year away, Sessegnon is two, Skipp and Jack Clarke are three.

Levy's allergy to signing established English players is not without basis, the prices are ludicrous and the players are often limited. But it's that or compete with an arm behind our backs.

And again, the Davies thing under the UEFA rules is such bullshit.

Brilliant, thanks for that, much appreciated.

so we (as its been for a few years) need more HG players to fill out our squads, really need to ask questions about our academy and its coaching and the way the manager brings good players into first team or gives them devolpment loans

Our academy has produced good players; and continues to do so.

Made it (current) - Skipp, Winks, Kane, Tanganga

Made it (past) - Mason, Bentaleb, Livermore, Townsend

The Almost Men - Oonamah, Carroll, Pritchard, SMith, KWP

Add to that we have Parott, Cirkin, Edwards, Marsh coming through.

That really is not good enough. Kane was years ago and Skipp not ready and on loan. Leaving 2.
