News Police to visit 1,000 homes in crackdown on illegal Premier League streams and "fire sticks"

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Mate if the PL introduced a service to watch all pl games for £30 a month I would pay it.
Imagine it just in this country: 1 million people people paying £30 a month = £360m a year just in this country. I am sure it would be way more anyway because of individual game packages and more than million people buying.
The 2016-19 sky /bt deal was £5bn

If it ever happens, it will be TV season tickets with the big clubs keeping the lions share of the money, the final nail of football being somewhat competitive.

Make football affordable and accessible and this wouldn't be a problem. It was always a game for the working class but now it suckles on the corporate teet. I could never justify spending the ridiculous fees they charge to watch football, I'd sooner walk away from being a fan than do it.

We have Sky and Amazon (and the pub over the road has BT) but I may or may not investigate other sources for games not on those platforms.

Streaming sites absolutely suck. Most of the time the content freezes when a goal's incoming/buffers/goes grainy/is in Slovakian/has a nazi-infested comments section and I end up just staring at photos of semi-clad ladies who apparently want middle-aged men from my approximate geographical location.

I agree with the others: make it all accessible for a decent fee. I will pay.

Got the dreaded knock on the door this morning, so naturally I didn't answer it. 5 minutes later, when I went to investigate, my Amazon parcel had been knicked off the doorstep.

Pretty sure IPTV's are the main target here. Great streaming quality, and the money you pay for them is directly taken from the big broadcasters like Sky, BT etc. Also, they're extremely cheap. 70-100£ per year compared to whatever you lads pay in the UK.

Police will visit 1,000 homes this week as part of a massive crackdown on illegal television streaming.

They have identified customers from a huge database in a major ongoing criminal investigation and will knock on the doors of people to warn they could also face prosecution. This latest clampdown against 1,000 individuals comes after raids by West Mercia Police against a UK-based illegal streaming service offering entertainment and sports via modified boxes, so-called “ fire sticks” and subscriptions.

This the same police who won’t turn up if there is a robber sitting at your dinner table eating your last hob knob ? Ridiculous article. As fantastical as the old “Detector” van bollocks they used to pump out.

Don't watch illegal streams Carrie, or you might get a virus on your devices. Is this stream illegal?...

It’s a minor crime. How about they put some actual effort in to solving a few burglaries and crimes. Didn’t they report before Christmas that a million thefts and burglaries hadn’t been solved in 2022.
It's a sick fucking joke. They do absolutely fuck all about them. One christmas, my door was literally destroyed while I was away, they took everything of value (including presents) and left my housemate's safe on his bed after a failed attempt to open it. It had a shiny plastic coating and was covered in fingerprints, but they 'detectives' didn't take prints because "they couldn't be sure it was the robbers who touched it". My jaw hit the floor.

Afterwards, a nice lady detective came and asked me to itemise the missing items (including about 300 ps3 games, blu-rays and dvds) in case they turned up. I asked her, what are the chances you'll find them. She said "Honestly? none."

We had a pretty good idea who it was, because we'd seen these lads scoping the place out from the garden, they'd been followed back and were coming from a specific house on the far side of the green. We even found some of the ripped wrapping paper on their fence! :D You've got to laugh. We reported this to the police and they said it wasn't actionable intel.

That same year, I had my laptop pinched from a pub, while I was playing pool. I saw the security video and it clearly showed them taking it while I had my back turned, but when it was given to the police, they said it was insufficient evidence to show a crime had taken place.

So, I say this with absolute sincerity: FUCK THE POLICE.

Update: On second thoughts, there was a nice policeman in france who let my mum grow weed.
