do you really expect us to make new signings when a manager isn't in place? There's an order here:

DOF>Manager>Players

Holidays, Euros and availability comes into play here as well.

Well that is good, when we sign a few crap players in August we can all console ourselves that there was nothing that Spurs could do because we didn't have a manager.

If the first game of the season comes, we have no manager, or a sub-standard excuse, we've sold our best players, signed nobody or only hours before kick-off then i'll be fecked off.

If however a DOF is confirmed this week, a manager next week and a couple of players close to the euros concluding then i'll be fine with that. Sure I would have liked them as soon as the domestic season concluded but maybe the DOF was the big hold up?
Hilarious that you talk about the "order" of things. The first 40 days of our manager search were headed by Hitchen (not a DOF but the closest thing to it we had). Then, Levy goes behind his back to try and get a different manager and he also hires a different DOF.

If the club were behaving in an "orderly" manner then why let Hitchen run the manager search for 40 days? If the DOF was the "big hold up" then why were the Levy/Hitchen duo courting managers?

You also act like we can just wait around and then our rivals aren't doing anything. Some of the better young prospects in Europe have already moved or are soon to be moved. We're missing out on good players because we messed around for over a month and a half and STILL have nothing to show for it.

It's also not like the moment a manager comes in he, the DOF, ownership, etc. are all on the same page. These are massive investments and take time to plan, analyze and enact.

It's already a shambles and it's amazing there are still some people that are OK with it.

Wonder how true it is. My worst nightmare. Ballsless Sarri in line for Tottenham Manager.

Even worse is having some Spurs fans actually saying better than what we could've had. Typical Looser attitude.

Better than what We could've had....... He is crap. From possibly Conté to Sarri. I hope the season ticket holders who were duped show some displeasure.

From my press mate. Just rumour, not from any club source.

Conte wanted to bring a lot of staff, which would mean we would need to let a lot of our backroom team go. This includes key medial and conditioning staff. This was a NO GO for spurs, especially during covid as staff have all been given assurances their jobs are safe.

Spurs heiracy rightly concerned about losing day to day control of the club and want 'tottenham hotspur' to succeed as the club it is, not winning by $

Sarri is much better than some of the other names being stumped for here. He's not my #1 choice, or even #3 choice, but he's much better than someone like Potter or Nuno.

If this is true, then we are seriously so screwed.

If one of the best managers in football wants to bring his own staff in, let him. It's not like we've got a great medical or conditioning team either.

They want Tottenham Hotspur to "succeed" as the club we are? We've won fuck all for two decades.

I'll save us all time, what they want to do is save money.

To be fair to Levy, no chairman is literally going to let an incoming 1st team manager/coach have that much control over the club staff.

Not that I particularly want him, but how comes Zidane doesn’t seem to get a mention in the press? He’s a free agent now and let’s be honest, he’s an extremely successful manager. Regardless of Madrid being an “easy” job, he still won 3 CL in a row which is an incredible achievement. Certainly not my first choice by any means, but surely a more exciting option that Eddie Howell or fucking Martinez!!!! Just getting to the point where I don’t give a shit, such a shambles
It’s a fair point

I honestly think we need a stellar name that players want to play for to help attract signings... Gerrard would be similar to that. I think Potter is a better coach than either, but getting in players is more fundamental at the moment vs coaching ability

Just spent 95 minutes waiting for my GP's surgery to answer their phone. It felt like this thread.

When they answered, they said they couldn't help. So I came back here again.

I'm in a Beckett play.

I think Potter is good if you want to look good, don't be down in the dumps etc when you loses matches. But he hasn't done any better with league positions than the previous Brighton and Hove Albion manager.

sounds fake.

Nuno yes, Potter no.

I don't think our current team really fits with what Sarri does so wouldn't we need a pretty big overhaul to play his style?

I am not against an overhaul obviously but to end up with meh Sarri ball? I would hope we could do better than that.

Isn't this the same club that wanted to furlough staff in the the pandemic? So they were cool doing that but now are worried about their jobs when they have the chance to bring in an elite manager?

And wanting the club to succeed as it is? What kind of BS is that? (that is a shot at the club not you or your mate.)
