What I don't understand is why people are raging at this potential appointment, someone who they know fuck all about (I know fuck all about him) but would rather take a guy that got beat by him who had a superior squad and a settled Club (not having DoF fired and new owners) or want Potter because he's got great xG but not as good an xG as the guy they are raging about!?

Seems and really flawed logic to rage about.

I think it's the message it sends.

We need to offload a lot of dead weight out of this team and have the likes of Kane who most likely wants to get out. I don't see how an appointment like this indicates in any way a commitment to rebuild the squad, would be appealing at all for Kane to want to stay, or shows any significant sense of ambition.

Might be that he comes on and amazes everyone but this feels like an extremely high risk/high reward situation, when it feels that the club is sitting on a razors edge.

Because no-one trusts Levy. They think it’s the cheapest appointment possible for a guy who will work with no money. It’s not comparative to Potter, many fans have watched Brighton all season with average quality players mostly playing a great style of football with a mean defence and thought he looks fucking good, that could work and he knows the Prem.

This guy may work or he maybe another Santini, the risk level is large to say the least.
"WHAT WE NEED IS A DOF, WE CAN"T HAVE LEVY MAKE THE FOOTBALL DECISIONS"

This guy comes in CHOSEN BY OUT NEW DOF!

How many Roma games have you watched? Be honest.

Not many but getting some guy from Italy compared to a guy who has managed in the prem is a bigger risk. As for DoF I was thinking Rangnick, the guy we appointed surprised me to say the least.

If you feel the same if we hired Potter, then fair enough, that makes sense on your stance and it's consistent. But I don't get people wanting Potter (who I've no problem becoming Spurs boss) because his team has a fantastic xG but don't want Fonseca who's xG blows Potters out of the park!

I don't get that.

Yes!!! I completely get this logic, it's one of the reasons I absolutely wouldn't shit the bed if we hired Potter.

BUT, if this is the logic for Potter, then why the fuck isn't it the logic for Fonseka (who I know nothing about) but his xG blows Potter's out of the park!!!
The worry I'd have about Fonseca is the defensive record. Again, not super familiar with him, but compared to Potter lots of chances conceded, high quality chances conceded and more corners and FK's conceded. Also, Fonseca's xG is for Roma, traditionally a top 6 side in Serie A., the bottom sides in Serie A are mostly poor. Potter's xG is for a Bottom 5 side in probably the world's toughest league. (Though not a defensive league).

Not trying to be confrontational, nor am I a big xG guy, but I'd have liked Potter if we weren't going to bring in Nagelsmann, Conte or ETH. Quietly kind of happy we've brought in a Sporting Director with good pedigree and seem to be following his lead.

Why is Poteer better than Fonseka?

I'm not personally claiming to know anything about this guy other than what I'm reading, but it would appear that he has some similarities with Potter: ranking as the 12th-best attacking side in Europe when looking at non-penalty expected goals per game. For context, Tottenham have been the 30th-best side in Europe, and just the eighth-best in the Premier League.

Fuck off you Levy apologist cunt. This is a shite appointment and it would be a minor miracle if he lasts the season.

If you think Levy didn't have a say in the choice of Fonseca then you're an even dafter prick than previously imagined.

But if this goes through then it would be a DoF decision, something ALL OF US has been calling for!

I'd say having some guy finishing just above relegation to a guy getting to EL Semi-Final and 7th in the league is not a bigger risk at all.

But according to all the reports this is nothing to do with Levy

it's Paratici's guy.
