Match Preseason Summer 2026

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If they were not doing a tour, the players still need a preseason to build up fitness, and for the manager to coach his tactics and experiment wth some players in differing positions etc.

The only difference being that most of games likely to be against L1 or championship teams with one or two top clubs at the end - so less money as probably no sponsorship against those teams and overseas fans don't see Spurs either.

Pre seasons are essential and have been going on for a full century, typically lasting about 6 weeks or so each preseason - UEFA/FIFA adding more and more games and investing new tournaments such as Nations League, World Club Cup Tournament and adding more games to League/Grouo phase of uefa tournaments are the real cause of fixture congestion.

I know preseasons exist you plonker

You don’t need to do them in the opposite time zone though

Stop sucking enics flaccid teet

It matters very little to players whether they do preseason in Oz or UK - might even prefer Oz for novelty value over playing Leyton Orient on preseason

That's why ALL the PL clubs tend to go on international preseasons, so your enic comment is s irrelevant as the rest of you post.

If you know nothing about preseasons, why bother to post ?

I'm booked up for the tour now. Should be a good one. I fully expect us to stay up so, upon return from the tour, there will still be 3 weeks until the Premier League season starts and so I think we will slot in at least one European away friendly too.

Told you. So I do expect that away European friendly to be announced (at least one) plus 2-3 domestic friendlies.

With so few first team players available, at least RDZ can properly evaluate the returning loanees and U21 players.

just need to highlight this... literally none of our attacking players at the premier competition in international football

(and yes I know a couple are injured)

combination of a lack of quality and injuries - Solanke recently back from injury and not I suspect fully back would probably have been called up by England (who after Kane struggle for back ups) if he'd had a solid 6 months playing, Kulusevski out for the season etc etc, Richarlison not the player he was in 2022

Its clearly the area where we need to upgrade most and where most cash needs to be spent : by contrast the defence with the likely addition of Senesi and Robertson looks reasonably ok even if we lose Romero as seems likely
