But right is fine?

Both are at it… way to douse the flames.
This place sounds like the comments section on the Guardian webpage.

Load of smug lefties having a jolly old circle jerk parroting all the usual leftist lines they've been indoctrinated to parrot

Say what you like about those of us to the right of the socialists and so called progressives at least we aren't fucking boring.

I was always hopeful that Archway Steel would be the ones to buy out Enic but I think that ship has sailed,:contehmm:

Angela Bassett Burn GIF

Yeah mate, that is really gonna make them stop. It seems both sides are boring, to me (when it’s in footi threads).

Think it’s an exercise in futility trying to change another’s political leaning. If you’d said “all political shit” I’d have agreed.

Countries across the world dealt with covid and governments in those countries will remain in power because they dealt with it well, instead of having parties and lying about it or deciding to do lockdown far too late or not even close airports.

The tories shafted themselves under Covid, their policies cost lives (still do).
Bollocks
There wasn't one tory politician that made covid decisions, it was all done by civil servant scientists, the Tories however made the decisions about paying salaries for people to sit at home and broke the public purse paying for everything.
Their policies don't cost lives, the worldwide spread of a virus that mankind hadn't a cure for did that.

Or do you think it was 5G?

The scientists told the Tories to lock down earlier (like most of Europe) and to shut airports. The tories ignored them.

+ Furlough was one of the few decisions they got right.

I would feel differently if we were the first and just kept winning year after year after year. Winning isn't fun if it's easy.

But we're too far behind City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Newcastle and even Woolwich to really put up a fight anymore.

I don't want to be fighting with Villa, Everton, West Ham and Leeds to finish 7th every year.
For clarity
Too far behind City in everything.
Too far behind liverpool, manu, chavs, newcs in finance
And too far behind arse in points (this year).

Its a tangent but agreed. Earlier lockdowns would have meant less burden on NHS, fewer sick people in hospitals means better care, fewer deaths. A little bit of extra time for vaccinations, etc etc. Boris leaving things open even when things were so bad in italy did cause extra deaths.

Sociable + friendly = progressive.
Not expressly, but they tend to be correlated. People who are welcoming and outgoing towards outsiders are generally more open to outside ideas which leads to a more progressive outlook.

Anyway, I was just trolling with that post. I find it hilarious to see so many in the UK diving headlong into the American stereotype of "we're better!"

London is a great place, obviously, and I absolutely love it. And I'm not comparing London to Mobile, Alabama, USA. But I don't think if you polled a wide audience of unbiased people who have spent a significant amount of time in both cities and countries, that London and the UK would be rated as more progressive.

Perhaps it's my use of the phrase "far more" that's got everyone's knickers in a twist. I'd be willing to scratch the far from the statement, TBF.

Either way, the point stands that being the minority owner of a London football club they use as a development squad (which is, again, what's actually on the table and not them buying us trophies as some have gotten carried away with) isn't going to reform the Qataris extreme religiously conservative archaic world view.
