Wow… that was….. not funny

How long did it take you?
Time has no meaning when you're...

Someone who knows the rules and regulations more than I could probably answer this. But let’s say that QSI does want a majority stake in the club, and they also get the long-discussed Super League off the ground. Does that effectively deal with the UEFA rules about only controlling one club in the competition?

I’ve barely followed the Super League (because I just want to enjoy things as much as possible), but I know it’s still floating around. I just assume that the “plan” is do this Super League and walk away from Champions League?
PSG (qsi) were one of the holdouts for the ESL - actively against it.

Makes sense as they got the WC due to UEFA (Platini specifically)

But yes they could make up any rule they wanted for their own competition.

It is the mail. So the opposite is probably true

Yeh I saw that and then thought immediately that makes zero logical sense unless a buyer wanted 100% of control. If Qatar bought 25% and someone else bought 75% of Lewis’s shares to gain control the effect would still be Lewis leaving. To me that looks like they didn’t think it through.

That doesn’t really rule out Qatar, if they sell 25% to them and the rest to someone else unless that someone else wants 100% of shares.

Would make it a tougher sale, I reckon...... If you're rich enough to own outright, you're not likely to want to make do with a 75% majority.

I reckon this makes it likely that QSI to shift their attention to Liverpool... IIRC their owners were seeking investors rather than a outright sale.

But interesting Lewis wants totally out.

A sale has been low-key on the cards ever since the stadium was finished.......

Maybe but modern finance with consortiums is all about marginals. If Qatar only wanted 25% but a consortium of grouped investors wanted to buy Tottenham they could still take control with 75%. It makes it a bit more complex but not beyond investment bankers.

That is also true, it’s dodgy as fuck but Qatar Company 1 owning PSG then set up Qatar Company 2 run by the guys uncle and hey presto 2 clubs basically owned by the same people but not technically owned by the same people.

Listening to Jordan and White on Talksport the other day, they mentioned something like QSI could own a minority stake, but then bring in an independent investor who is known to QSI and is closely aligned to them to front the majority stake

Taking bogus identity or bought allies into account; technically 51% is enough to boast a controlling stake, but more practically any less than 75% requires a whole lot of back-n-forth (and headaches) in the boardroom to get one's decisons over the line.

I don’t think they could. As gloriously dodgy as UEFA are, I think that would be too obvious.

I think this likely rules Qatar out.
