Yeh I saw that and then thought immediately that makes zero logical sense unless a buyer wanted 100% of control. If Qatar bought 25% and someone else bought 75% of Lewis’s shares to gain control the effect would still be Lewis leaving. To me that looks like they didn’t think it through.
If, and it is still a big if in my opinion they did want in. Could it be that buying a minority stake in the short term to get their feet under the table (and probably with a lot less fuss than a full take over) would be the way to go.
Give them time to sell the majority stake in PSG and buy the remaining majority off ENIC but all agreed up now?
Who knows?

As discussed, they don't even need to sell PSG. They just need to set up another business to run Spurs.

This is what 49ers enterprises are doing at Leeds.

They started out buying 15% of Leeds in 2018. Increased their stake to 44% in 2021. And are now looking to get over the 50% line.

No, as in they could just buy ENIC, keep the same ownership structure and go from there.

Another possible reason for them looking at investing in other clubs perhaps?

TLDR version: PSG want to make renovations to the Parc de Princes. But the city of Paris, who owns the stadium, don't want to, or at least not to the extent that PSG want to. PSG have offered to outright buy the stadium but the city has said no.

Hopefully this deal happens, ideally a complete buyout would be the best option.
Those fans who don't like it will be fine eventually, once the club start competing and winning on a regular basis 👍
