It only took Ange all those games (oh and Chavksi where Emerson was atrocious) to realise the sensible option was to play a player that has comfortably played LB before In the LB position and our new CB signing (that he wanted) at CB.

It only took injuries to 2 lb's and shit performances in 4 games to do it.

Side note, Dragusin looks a beast. Saw his recovery pace last night as well.

Lol this is spot on. With Udogie and Porro as orthodox full backs. Our club is completely insane. We'd be brutal to play against.

Conte would have benched Porro and sent UDog out on loan then referred to VDV as a young player with loads to learn whilst starting Lenglet

The revisionist shit is tiring. UDog VDV Sarr Porro Vic all look good in this system under this manager.

From here they will get the minutes and learn to be good for any system but at least give fucking credit where it’s due

Van de Ven looked bang average as a full back yesterday. All this "imagine this, imagine that" bollocks. Imagine we had adequate attackers.

Hopefully next season we never see him play there again and instead Udogie can keep fit and we get a suitable back up.

Very impressed with Dragusin and that was on his weaker side. Adequate replacement for Romero.

so he didn't play him at LB and instead chose Skipp to play that position because of risk of injury 'to VDV? Saturday was a risk to injury but 3 days later there's no risk.

You do half talk a bag of shite and you've been called out on your wishy washy posting style before where its not clear where you actually fucking stand so work on being clear and concise before trying to dig anyone out on what they're "blithering about".

Thought he was tucking in way too much (natural as he's a CB) which is why Walker and Silva were getting so much space on the right.

He's not a LB anyway and certainly isn't a LB in this system, he is a better option than Emerson and Skipp though, thankfully we can address this in the Summer.
 
It is funny that many on here laughed at the suggestion of VDV at LB yet Ange plays him there against the best team in the league and we look more solid than we have done in months.

I get all the caveats around "protecting his hamstrings" but obviously that is not too much of a concern since he played him there yesterday - 3 days after another game!

When the alternatives are Skipp/Emerson/Davies you have to take brave decisions and had Ange done this a few games ago we may well have been able to secure CL football.

Find a way to make it work ffs. When your defence is playing like shit for weeks how about actually put your best defenders on the pitch? City/Woolwich often play with 4 CBs and they're top of the league. Ange has to shoulder his share of the blame for failing to adapt.

Looking forward to seeing more of Drago next season. Solid, battling, quick enough, good enough on the ball and provides much needed aerial ability.

Can join Bill in thinking we dont understand that bereavement is more serious than a soccer match...🫣 Oh and Sarr looked under Conte when played. Some don't rate Vicario under this coach...that's why we are here for the opinions. Too tired log off.
