Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I haven't watched any Scottish football since I lived there a decade ago. Back then I used to watch quite a lot and thought the standard was more like lower championship on the whole. Which is fine. That still would make it better than most leagues in the world, and enjoyable to watch. I don't know what the standard is like nowadays though.

The standard has definitely increased since then.
Still in recovery mode from the Setanta and Rangers financial shit storms.
As you say enjoyable to watch and a lot less stressful for me as I have no vested interest :)

The most important thing as a Scot is that we finally have young talent coming through and playing together.

What teams do you watch? I used to go watch Dunfermline Athletic, East Fife and Hibs mostly. Always wanted to watch Queen's Park but never got round to it.

Really only watch the games on tv these days so whatever they are showing.
Sportscene for the highlights.

Have actually seen Queens Park quite a few times in recent years. Neighbour is a season ticket holder.
Mate of mine is a Dundee United supporter so used to go with him to games if I couldn't get down to see us play.

Sadly life has got in the way and don't get to many games at all now.

You could argue the decline in Scottish football started in the mid eighties when souness rocked up with his big vision! They signed player after player mostly English at the start then followed it up with mediocre foreign players with the odd exception Laudrup! Other teams followed Celtic,Aberdeen ect all at the expence of young Scottish players and they were lost to the league and the national team with the result we were getting guys playing for Scotland who were English who would never get a game for England but had a Scottish granny and had never been to Scotland in their life. But in the mean time vast amounts of money filtered through the English game lower leagues and Scottish teams can't compete it's a sad state of affairs that two years ago Rotherham could attract the then Hibs manager Alan Stubbs who had just won the cup down the road, fecking Rotherham Jesus!! Yes Scottish football is grim it is what it is but you cant say that West Brom v Stoke is gonna get the pulses racing? Money is the big issue it is king and England have the resources and the population to hold it up there's 5million people in the whole of Scotland
and bare in mind half the folk that are into football support the erse cheeks all the other teams get a minimum support there's a lot of work to do. Rumour has it McInnes Aberdeen manager is favourite for the Rangers job......so if true back to square one!

He wouldn't go there surely?
He was attracting interest from down south.
If he wanted to go for cash then that would be the better shout.
Aberdeen have good setup and are the better team.

It'll be the media stirring the "must move to the big club" nonsense and feeding the huns delusions.

Well he was on the local radio speaking about this weekend and was asked about the situation at ibrox,he didn't admit to owt, obviously but didn't rule anything out either just saying it's been a "strange season" so far meaning managers getting sacked!

But do you no think he's taken Aberdeen as far as he can? On Wednesday Aberdeen had the chance to put down a marker playing Celtic get right in about them let them know that Aberdeen could challenge! but did the opposite they're arses calapsed...

I don't actually.
I think hes possibly the best manager in the league.
Got a great setup there. Players obviously bought into his philosophy.

Playing against Celtic is always going to be tough. The difference in wealth at the clubs is vast.
Aberdeen are improving year on year.

Rangers would be a step down and they've got a lot more problems than just shit managers.

Mm kinda a do in respect he's a decent manager or at least has been in Aberdeen,Bristol City he lost his way! But players and his philosophy he's got a decent squad second only to Celtic but strange though that some of the squad don't seem convinced laddie Jack couldn't wait to rock up at ibrox and McLean says he wants to leave as well at the end of his contract?

Didn't know that about McLean :)
There's always going to be the odd player that wants to leave. (Walker, etc)
Saying that if he feels/knows that he'll lose his players without being able to replace them then I can understand him believing the journey is at an end.
If he did leave then I still believe there's better options than that lot though.
Scotland job for one.
May even see some Aberdeen players getting a shot!

Scotland job yes but in the future hes way to young! Saying that the friendly next week at pittodrie the clots at the SFA missed a trick they could have given him the Scotland gig it's his home ground
Freshened things up McKay is no getting it so why bother we him waste o time!

Agree with him being too young at the moment.
Would be a bold move by SFA so it's never going to happen.

I'm not so sure about McKay though. He's been waiting in the wings since before the England game.
If we don't get hammered they'll no doubt give it to him.

None of the names getting banded about fill me with any excitement.
Just hope they go for someone Scottish. Couldn't handle another Berti.

Unfortunately the options for the national team are very, very limited both in player options and suitable candidates as manager the SFA no doubt won't take a punt on something different they'll go for a safe option as per!

Rangers what a mess

THERE has been a great deal of media speculation regarding the appointment of a new manager. We assure all supporters that they will be the first to know when we are certain we have someone with the correct qualities required by our club.

The Chairman made it clear at the AGM that the club did not consider there to be an outstanding candidate among those who had applied for the position and the club was therefore considering managers currently under contract. This requires permission from their present clubs.

The position of Rangers manager requires an ability to win football matches and the mentality to cope with the demanding off-pitch environment that goes with being the Rangers manager. This is a critical aspect of our assessment of any candidate during the interview process.

After the two games against Aberdeen, we requested permission to engage with their manager to assess his readiness and willingness to consider the Rangers position. This was declined. We were subsequently made aware by Aberdeen’s statement that, at this stage in his career, it would be best for him to remain in his current post. We endorse that position because moving to a massive club like Rangers is a big step with concomitant risk. We continue to consider candidates but will only appoint someone in whom we have full confidence and who feels he is ready for the job.

In the meantime, we have great confidence in Graeme Murty, who will continue as interim manager at least until the end of the year. The manner in which he has approached this task is a credit to himself and the club.
