Why did he want to give it though?
If you aren’t sure, and he couldn’t have been sure because he clearly couldn’t see it, then you give the goal because you are motivated to give the goal.

This is the same question I have with officials now. Simons red vs Liverpool, Romero’s most recent red from Oliver…, the push in the back goals this season…
The best refs only make decisions that impact the outcome of the game when they’re 100% sure that they have to. Our refs in the premier league act like they are constantly looking to make controversial decisions.
That Chelsea 'goal' still makes my blood boil. We were told after the infamous Mendes incident that the reason the ref didn't give the goal on that occasion was because he couldn't be sure the ball crossed the line.
Well the ref can't have been sure the ball crossed the line on that occasion either, because the replays showed that it clearly didn't. Yet the twat still gave it.
You could see it absolutely took the wind out of our sails straight away, too. Just like the penalty decision in the Champions League final did.
It's not just the effect these dreadful mistakes have on the scoreline. It's how they affect the players too. The team were clearly demoralised by the decisions in both these games for a good while afterwards.

This is why we don't get decisions, we should be sueing the PGMOL for how corrupt their decisions have been.
It is on our fans to make sure the referee knows next game they are going home in a pine box.

To Officials we are Leicester in reverse. If there is the slightest bit of doubt we don’t get the decision, if we are fouled most refs play it on.
Same with cards, teams get a free hit on pour players yet we get punished. This happens far too often for it to be a coincidence.

Club needs to come out fighting and make sure the world knows they are trying to fuck us. That we will bankrupt them if we go down, in legal fees if not winning the case. We should raise personal suits against Rob Jones and Michael Oliver maybe even that should be done by us as a fan base.
Still fuming about the officiating AND the commentary yesterday
Not a peep from the club, not even anything to highlight it or put pressure on them, even when we 'complained' about the Dragusin push we asked for clarity from PGMOL instead of outright complaining and they blanked us. The charlatans upstairs at this club don't give a fuck about the club, not one - I'm more fuming at them then the refs or the PGMOL because they could have put some pressure on them but no, they couldn't give a fuck and neither could our players, the whole club is finished.
This is a joke and they are even saying that Romero was in the wrong for shielding the ball! That is what a defender is there to do, to protect the ball. That was good defending, good shielding.
If Romero had pushed the guy then he would have been booked it is that simple. And the pundits would have said you can’t just push someone out of frustration.
I don’t like jumping on decisions but these pundits, these referees, there is certainly an agenda against us.
Actually thought his pen call for us was so bad that he didn't want to look corrupt in our favour so gave us nothing after that.
That was a soft pen but still a pen. No other team would have had it rerefereed.
The club is so soft. We are so pathetic. Not even the old legends or ex players working inside the club in some slightest capacity have made known or their voices heard of such inconsistent officiating against us. What a shame a club our size couldn't protect itself and uphold some sporting integrity, all for the fear of more repercussions and/or fines. Sickening to the core supporting this club with such owners and culture.
Best thing about going to Sunderland was not having to put up with the commentary- although on the rare occasions I’m not there I watch it in silence-better for my mental health!
