It’s not over til the fat lady sings .

We’ve been missing opportunities to avoid relegation since August to be fair .

All we need to do is match WHAM’s results in our next two games ( or even draw one if they beat both of their last two opponents) ; and we’re home and hosed .

We can’t look backwards to games we “ should “ have won . We’ll drive ourselves bananas doing that .

The next two games are the only ones that matter .

Onwards !

Yep. See my previous post. Three wins is all we needed. I wanted it Monday to relax and go to the Everton game knowing everything was done. Now that’s unlikely unless we pick up a draw v Chelsea, which could happen.

Notabadsquad is just being facetious/sarcastic.

He’s been one of the most constantly positive voices on here against relegation.

Anyone with half a brain.....

If only just being balanced, maybe as opposed to necessarily positive was enough.

Sunday will be a difficult watch/follow or whatever people will do.

Newcastle are a tough opponent, and one I wouldn't want us to be facing is all I will say.

West Ham won't be relishing it but they don't look like they will fear it.

De Zerbi lost his first game . Since then 4 games and 8 points . 4 game unbeaten run, Not sure if we’ve done that this season , maybe at the start. Could have lost on Monday but we didn’t , our keeper saved us.
Keep it going and we make it. West Ham will have to try and win at Newcastle which will suit Newcastle as they have pace to burn up front.

Interesting.

You would imagine Newcaastle will take the game to West Han to start with, seek to get the early goal and if not it settles.

West Ham's full backs bomb on constantly and defend pretty well.

I think a lot depends on two separate things. Tonali and Guimares as that likely central midfield pairing to push Newcatle. The other is Newcastle's motivation, which I think will be close to full pelt.

Outcome,objectively- a Newcastle win, but I think they will need to score 2 or 3 to do so.

It's easy to think West Ham can just go up to Newcastle and win, but if it was Spurs in that situation, and we had to go up to Newcastle away and get 3 points, I wouldn't be very hopeful.

West Ham are down there for a reason, they are shit and struggle to score goals.

I watched Newcastle against Forest and it was quite an even game, but Newcastle had plenty of chances. Tonali, Guimeres and Joelinton have a strong midfield. What lets them down is their two strikers aren't good at all. So they need to be clinical with their chances.

Hopefully he starts Barnes and Gordon.

What is really important, is Chelsea. If we can somehow get a point at least, that puts us in a fantastic position.

When that midfield are all fit they are among the best, if not the best, in the country. Joelinton and Bruno just back from injury , they will only improve. If West Ham get anything they will have done well.
Just read on another site that Summerville and Bowen have scored one goal between them in last 9 games.
We still have every chance. What better than to go to Chelsea and sneak a point to stay up. Especially if it’s a dodgy pen.
My fear on Monday was that if Maddison had got the pen we would have had Richarlison grabbing the ball and running off with it, he then takes the pen and puts it into the crowd.

Don't know about the penalty.

Very much about how driven Newcastle are to finishing the season at home and on a high, and we simply don't know the answer, but their players have no gripe with us.

Will be very nervy and our biggest hope is that we have 2 games and 1 point to secure safety.

Plus Gordon is coming back from injury and trying to play himself into form and an England World Cup starting spot ahead of Rashford. Their players have a lot to motivate them. Inside the Newcastle goldfish bowl the players will be reminded that they need to finish above Sunderland too. We really couldnt hope for much more from an opponent than Newcastle.

I don't think they loose to Newcastle.

I'm cynical about this league, think it's being engineered to come down to final day
But if that's the case surely West Ham's last gasp equaliser v Woolwich wouldn't have been ruled out?
A draw there would have made both the relagation fight and the title fight even more spicy and more likely to come down to the final match in both.
