Nuno humiliating both Spurs and Wolves is probably the karma I didn't think this world had.

I agree with people who say we are a bottom half team but not a relegation team.

That is one thing that has been consistent over the past year regardless of injuries.

Warning Flash!

Let's hope a mentality of "nothing to play for in the league" doesn't creep in into players minds, then we are in serious trouble, relegation battle and with the squad we have we all know what the outcome will be.

In the last 10 years or so 37 points is the highest number which has still ended up in relegation, it's more normally around 34.

We really, really should be safe. But consider this: over the last 10 games we're 17th on form, joint with Everton in 18th. In the form table we are below teams we consider to be in the relegation fight like Ipswich and Wolves.

We shouldn't be panicking about it because it's so unlikely but we'd be foolish to just give up on the league entirely and concentrate only on the cups and just assume that there's nothing to play for. After the NLD we've got Everton - they're not great but they are scrapping away and they've lost less games than us. They'll sit in a low block while we just pass it around side to side and backwards, Everton will be content with a point but they'll still look to hit on the break. After that it's Leicester and that could really be an indicator.

TL;DR we're not in a relegation fight now but we will be if our players and manager don't snap out of whatever funk we've fallen into.

Everton may well have a new manager by then. Those around us in dire straights are replacing managers, or have replaced managers with the exception of Ipswich who seem content with their lot and Palace.

New manager bounces and beating us will see how this swings. We lose to Everton, Leicester, West Ham, and Ipswich - which let’s face it, isn’t unlikely then we suddenly look way more fucked.

The biggest concern is the teams around us are either used to the scrap or were expecting it and are geared up for it. In our case we're sleepwalking towards it thinking it couldn't ever happen.

We just need to grind out some results and it'll be fine, the problem is we don't like grinding anything out, we either want to hammer a team 4-0 or if the other team won't comply and let us we don't know what to do.

I still don't think it'll happen, I still think theres probably another couple of teams out there who are stupid or stubborn enough to let us play our game and we'll dole out another 3 or 4-0 or two.

Not to fall into the dramatization that is this particular thread. I'll just leave you with one fact to put some context on everything.

We are currently 300/1 to get relegated with Paddy Power. Go and throw a fiver on it if you think this thread is painting a realistic scenario!

I said I don't think it'll happen but is it really unreasonable to think that a team with the joint 18th worst points return over the last ten games shouldn't be so complacent?

If saying it 99% won't happen but we need to be wary is "dramatic" then I guess I'm dramatic.

These teams are all going to shithouse us too. Which is our biggest issue in terms of breaking teams down.

The saving grace is that the 3 points are more valuable to them than a point is to us in those games. They can’t catch us if they don’t beat us.

I'm just talking about this thread in general. "Relegation" which is a 300/1 shot. Not everything is about you

It would work out differently and we all know it.

We could be in a relegation scrap with 10 games to go but then even Levy would do the better option and get a non-Ryan Mason caretaker in and we'd pull away from there.

If that is Mason then I refuse to go to any matches till he's gone.

yeah i agree that if we even end up with any sort of relegation fears (within 5 points of 18th by March), then yeah we'd definitely have to change something quick! But if we are sitting in midtable then I can't see the club panicing.

Either way, I think this is Ange's last season unless he wins a cup and we finish top half. The lack of progress is very visible and its hard to see how he can turn this season into progress from here.

We are not getting relegated this season, we are on course for a bottom half finish though.
I will have serious worries if we are 15th in the the next few weeks. The likes of Ipswich, Everton, Palace, Wetspam and Leicester have more fight in them than us, they've been there before plus we all know how our players crumble cream cracker under pressure while Big Ange losses his temper makes matters even worse.

And STILL fans think the aussie cowboy masquerading as a football manager is capable.
We were all worried about this happening more than a year ago. And here it is. Happening.

I had a look at the fixtures & reckon, if things don’t change manager-wise or talent in the window , we’ll end up with 48 points

Comfortably safe 🙃

You could say that we would be consistent in that case! 24 points in 1-19 gameweeks, 24 points in in 20-38 gameweeks. Ange says all the time we need consistency, so that would be just first step to bigger things for sure

Relegation odds are fucked up. Paddy power to be specific.

Spurs. 300/1
Gives a benchmark.

Man City. 12/1
Man United 28/1
Brentford 66/1

Brighton 300/1
Aston Villa 300/1
Nottingham Forest. 300/1
Newcastle 500/1

Top 2 finish as a comparison.

Man City 9/2
Newcastle 20/1
Forest 25/1
Villa 200/1
Man United 475/1
Spurs 500/1

Someone somewhere is doing an absurd amount of crack cocaine.

Makes zero sense but isn't it all based on where the bets are going?
