In the last 10 years or so 37 points is the highest number which has still ended up in relegation, it's more normally around 34.

We really, really should be safe. But consider this: over the last 10 games we're 17th on form, joint with Everton in 18th. In the form table we are below teams we consider to be in the relegation fight like Ipswich and Wolves.

We shouldn't be panicking about it because it's so unlikely but we'd be foolish to just give up on the league entirely and concentrate only on the cups and just assume that there's nothing to play for. After the NLD we've got Everton - they're not great but they are scrapping away and they've lost less games than us. They'll sit in a low block while we just pass it around side to side and backwards, Everton will be content with a point but they'll still look to hit on the break. After that it's Leicester and that could really be an indicator.

TL;DR we're not in a relegation fight now but we will be if our players and manager don't snap out of whatever funk we've fallen into.

I think the problem is that the set of players we have are such wet blankets, they just wouldn’t have the fight for a relegation scrap. We need to pick up points asap. We have no character or fight in the squad.

Relegation odds are fucked up. Paddy power to be specific.

Spurs. 300/1
Gives a benchmark.

Man City. 12/1
Man United 28/1
Brentford 66/1

Brighton 300/1
Aston Villa 300/1
Nottingham Forest. 300/1
Newcastle 500/1

Top 2 finish as a comparison.

Man City 9/2
Newcastle 20/1
Forest 25/1
Villa 200/1
Man United 475/1
Spurs 500/1

Someone somewhere is doing an absurd amount of crack cocaine.
Man City relegation odds are about the court case / 115-130 charges.

The 300s and 500s are just to draw suckers in on a bet that ain't gonna pay off.

United and Brentford relegation odds look off to me.

Not that bad gameweek for us - despite our loss, we still maintain same gap to relegation zone since Leicester and Wolves also lost their matches.

Another important game tomorrow at Ipswich.

I don't think it's on, Leicester and So'ton are dead certs. Then one of Ipswich, Wolves, and Everton - three limited teams and only one of them can go down. But it's too close for comfort, for sure.

That 5 points from the last 27 stat..

I think my maths is correct..

If we carry on that form for the remaining 17 games we end on 33 points.
That sees us relegated in 70% of seasons in the last decade.

A quarter of the league season is not an insignificant sample size. And it is the most recent sample. This is our reality right now.

I just can't see how people think there is NO chance of relegation.

I wouldn't say there's no chance, but even with our shit form it's unlikely.

We’ve picked up 11 points from 21 from 7 games against 7 sides below us. If we keep at that level, we’ll be okay.

As things stand at the moment, we’re on the classic trajectory of a club in freefall down the table towards relegation who are perceived as too good to go down. We need a win or two and very soon to arrest the slide.

We need a massive shake up in attack to get something going. Lose to Everton and we are bang in trouble.

Kinsky
Spence -- Drag - Davies - Gray
Berg
Bentancur - Maddison
Moore - Solanke - Richy
Porro, Son and Kulu are fried.
Richy looked bright and Moore will offer more than BJ the ghost.
