Criticism - What it means to be a Spurs fan - A story from the weekend

So before the Sunday Match with Everton I went with my friends & their kids to a Sunday League mixed under tens 7 a side football tourny. The kids about 20 of em all under 10 in their kids kit asked me who I supported & I said Tottenham. They honestly all reacted like I told them I shit myself...

I honestly do not understand what planet people are living on when they say it’s unlikely they both beat us - we just got hammered by Everton, have one draw in five matches, more losses than wins and draws combined, lost to Ipswich at home already.

This complacency is why Ange is still hanging around and why we sit in 15th.

Tottenham in name is not going to keep us up ffs we literally cannot be backed to win a single match right now. Our results tell us we lost more than 50% of the games we have played this season in the league.

Completely agree - we cannot guarantee a win in ANY match & to pull AFTV TY bullshit isn't going to wash with me who watches the matches both at the Stadium & on TV.

I also need to state this - I'm not being negative I WANT US TO WIN but we cannot, without being utterly delusional, say WE WILL WIN 100%
 
He better start Spence and Reguilon against Leicester as they both can't play either EL match. His inability to rotate efficiently is his biggest weakness! Even when Bentancur was suspended for the league games he was taking him off early in the EL matches. Its a bizzare level of incompetence.

I fooled myself into thinking there was method behind the madness but now I just think he's aa mad man who's been found out

And same results say we have won 30% Would give us at least 12 points from our last 16 games. Enough to keep us up.
Which puts holes in your statistical point.

All that really matters now is the next game. And the players we have available for that game.

There’s no point looking any further forward than that. Our injuries are a continuous disaster.

you’re looking at it wrong mate, our current form means we are on course to get 7 points by the end of the season.

Our early season form averaged 14 points from a possible 30 points.

Our recent form is 7 points from a possible 30 points.

We have massively declined since the early part of the season and that form seems to be long gone, it wasn’t even good to begin with but compared to our last 10 matches, we’re getting half the amount of points than the first 10.

I cannot shout this any clearer, we are in a relegation battle.

I’ll frame it this way - if the players are still playing for Ange, then this form can get worse if they stop playing for him. It’s actually worse if they’re still playing for him and this is what they’re producing.

If they’ve already stopped playing for him, then he needs to go immediately anyway.

I can’t believe we sit 15th and it’s even up for debate.

Two things can also be right at the same time - Ange isn’t good enough and Levy and Co are still a problem. It doesn’t have to be one or the other, I just think the short term Ange needs to go.

We need to keep a sustained pressure on Levy over the long term if we want real change.

Actually 5 points in our last 10 games now! Just the 1 win. Over Soton.

But who exactly are we in a relegation battle with? Not Soton. They are cooked.

Ipswich? Who just lost 6-0. Only 8 points behind. Need 3 wins to catch us.
But. They have won 3 games all season. 7 points in the last 10. Do you think they are capable of that much improvement?

Or Leicester. 4 points out of the last 30 and 10 points behind us with a far worse GD. -25.

Which one are you most scared of?

Obviously we play them both in 6 pointers. Essentially cup finals for them. For us just can’t lose games.
 
How does the "supercomputer" account for things like confidence, or motivation (or lack of), or injuries?

A supercomputer is a computer and as such can only make calculations on whatever data a human has fed into it.

they can nick draws aswell though and whilst the same metric that we can get draws remains, the point is we are in such bad form that an improvement in form by either of those two teams means we are in big trouble.

I’m using the stats to back up the reality which is that Leicester or Ipswich could very well have a change in fortune and if we continue to play like this, we will be down. If we have a turn of fortune, great, we all want it. But hoping they will be just as shit as us until the end of the season therefore not catching us is madness.

Also, they lost 6-0 to City. We lost at home to Ipswich. We beat City. Big merry go round means fuck all, we are 8 points above relegation and it doesn’t feel like people within the club or a lot of fans think it’s even a possibility.

we shouldn’t be waiting to potentially lose to Leicester before we all get a rocket up us and realise this Is dangerous territory

There are no stats saying these teams are going to improve. None!

As far as Spurs go.
Sooner we get VDV and Romero back the better.

It’s not a coincidence that since having to play Archie Gray as a CB our form has suffered. Him and Dragusin together don’t know what they are doing.
Add to that the most inexperienced GK we could find it means we are not even just getting by at the moment. We just have bodies on the pitch. That’s it.

If we had of had the form of the last ten games with a fully fit 1st choice CB I’d be a lot more concerned at this point. Ideally we get them both back in Feb.

Relegation fight doesn’t really start till match day 30. We have a few weeks yet. My guess is by matchday 30 we are well and truly safe.

So I will let others do the worrying. I’m just going to see what happens one game at a time.

I think we could beat Leicester at home but I’m fairly certain we’ll lose away at Ipswich. It’s exactly the kind of game this team losses.

And we’ve been in the bottom three of the form table over the last 12 games (I haven’t looked back further, it could be more than that). That’s relegation form whichever way it is dressed up.
