I believe we’re going down now.

No snappy appointment shows no plan, panic and disorientation behind the scenes.

We’re going to fuck this all up.

I am blown away people are still falling for his bullshit.
He's good at it. He is a classic populist grifter. He knows exactly the right emotional notes to hit to get feels off the gullible going. The amount of 'I miss Ange' you're seeing shows how he has totally convinced people to over look the complete shit stain on downhill skis decent we are on started with HIM.

Postecoglou appointment along with Lange and Frank was what set in place our circling the drain. But its forgotten under the blizzard of his bonhomie and sound bites. It occurred to me today.he still thinks he is coming back LOL he is genuinely delusional....

Its easy to rattle off names of signings etc - but Im not even sure they made sense

Semenyo - sitting on the bench while Sonny played
Neto - plays the same position as back post Brennan, someone ANge clearly loved
Guehi - over VDV? Really?

Yes, 100%, would have been VERY nice depth to have, but in that context ( :ange-lips: ) would we even have a chance of getting them? Let alone the idea of dumping £70m on Semenyo to sit on the bench....

Im sure much of what he says rings true, but like a lot of TV shows these days - the more you think about it the less it makes sense...

He has always displayed a shocking lack of awareness. Good at the bluster, good at the orating, but actually under all that very limited and never self reflective.
This is what big clubs do, though. So if we want to eat at the big boy table we need to be acting like a big boy.

I’m not a fan of this line of thinking because all 3 would have gotten significant minutes regardless of who was considered “first choice.”

I am certain Neto would have beaten out Johnson for one.

Not really arguing with that at all, in theory at least

I suppose its the reality bit of it that bites, we are always there but not quite, arent we?

Semenyo is clearly careful about managing his career, waiting for the right opportunity etc - even if we were willing to pay big money for him - would he have come knowing Son was captain and most likely starting every week?

Same really for Neto/Guehi. Without us being in the CL at the time, its hard to get these people in even if we are willing to spend the money...

Fair, it’s possible and probably likely that none of the three were even willing to come.

But as fans, I don’t subscribe to the theory that because we have a big money signing in one position means we cannot also get another option there.

If there’s a RW that we deem checks all our boxes, tough shit for Kudus. Make the manager make a decision then.

Agree with that, Im no fan of "First 11 - backup 11" sort of thinking, modern football is a squad game and we need lots of quality througout
