This run was obvious and I was calling it out after the Burnley game - 4 points max from the run up to Liverpool.

Lose to Palace on Thursday and its curtains - if we can’t beat them, bearing in mind Guehi is gone and their best remaining defender will be suspended, they don’t score loads and lost to Macclesfield a few weeks back - then who will we beat?

Beat Palace and that probably give us the lift needed to beat Forest a couple of weeks later - win both and that’s us safe.

We are in dire straits though, Chelsea A, Villa A, Liverpool A, Wolves A (bogey side) Sunderland A - if I was being optimistic, 1 point.

Palace, Forest, Brighton, Leeds, Everton - terrifying to think we might have to win 3 of those
Have you seen Palace play? They havent been getting results but their performances have been cohesive and they know how to play in an 11-man system. Spurs on the other hand dont even know how to string 3 consecutive passes in the last 3rd. Been like this for the whole season.

No surprises itll be another lost, unless Tudor miraculously changes something

But they have been.

Points gained since GW 15:

Leeds 16
Palace 11
Forest 12
Spam 12
Burnley 9
Wolves 11

Us..... 7
Apart from Leeds, that’s all of them under a point per game. Yet all the talk is how West Ham are getting 10-15 more points in their final 10 matches, 3 of which are against each of the top 3 in the table.

I’m not saying they can’t catch us. I just think the threshold for safety is a lot lower than many are making it out. We realistically need a win and 2 draws. Unfortunately, it’s looking grim even with my slightly optimistic view on what it would take to stay up.

I think that sending off could be a lifeline for us. They are gutted at CB.

We will probably have to score 3 to win it.

Like I said though, if we don’t beat them then who are we going to beat ? The only sides lower in the league we would still have to play are Forest, Leeds and Wolves. Wolves are our bogey side, Leeds ran Man City close yesterday and Forest have won their last 3 against us.

I am not a conspiracy theorist (not fully at least), but could it be that the players (or a number of them) feel the toxic environment and don't want to be there anymore. They, together, agree that the only way out of their contracts is for the club to go down, then all will be out of the door as soon as the season ends.

Crazy thinking, but people who watch the matches, the coaches, all seem to repeatedly talk about players effort. These are professionals, means their craft is to execute football plan. How come they are showing failure to do so under 3 managers now????

Thursday is HUGE. I don't want to win, I want good old Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 thrashing of whoever shows up that night.

West Ham have 3 very winnable home games against Wolves, Everton and Leeds.

They also have away games at Fulham, Brentford, Newcastle and Palace. Additionally their away game against Villa is in the middle of Villa’s Euro tie.

They have a pretty decent run in and look the best of the 3 down there. I would be amazed if they don’t pick up 10 points plus.

Forest on the other hand have abysmal away games (us aside) and are completely reliant on home form now - they are who we are competing with imo

Yep reality is Nuno will have the last laugh and be the one who keeps his team up while spurs go down, as his players seem to want to win and stay up.

No, a lot of them know that Spurs is the limit for them - who is Vic going to and playing as number 1? Gray, Dragusin, Biss - this is the best it will ever be and they got a trophy out of it.

The problem is we’re really shit, our fit players are really shit, our manager is shit, our form is shit, our league position is shit, our defence is shit, our midfield is shit, Vic is shit, our attack is shit, our owners are shit, our transfer policy is shit. We’re just shit.

On that trajectory we're going down. We've been dead last in the form table for almost half of the games we've played. We don't look like bucking the trend at all, the other teams are playing well, bar a Burnely, who are doomed.

Where do you forsee points coming?

Vic is likely away to Inter in the summer, so getting an upgrade on us, the useless fuck.

Well trying to look on the bright side of life, thanks Monty python guys, maybe when we go down and Enic see their valuation slashed deservedly sooo they may finally be willing to sell to someone who wants to to buy a project primed for winning.

Yeah - no argument from me regarding how in danger we are currently. But the drop is going to be 35 or lower in my view, not the 40+ that some are expecting.

The best chances to pick up any points at all are this Thursday against Palace, Forest at home (we play Atlético home while they have to travel and play on Thursday that week), Brighton and Everton on the final day.

If you asked me whether we stay up or not, I think we will. But your guess is as good as mine where our points actually come from. It’s blind hope from me.

Really clutching at straws here, but in his brief cameo Danso looked like such a huge upgrade on Dragusin. Once Romero's back we've actually got a solid back 3 and some more competent passing in the back line.

Beyond that I think we need to pray Tudor stumbles onto some kind of synergy in the front line and midfield. Maybe Tel and Souza can give us some impetus. Or Rich can actually provide us with a few goals and will us over the line like he did Everton a few years ago.

So, so obvious that we're massively limited in midfield and can't control games or pass between the lines, though. Mental that pretty much every Spurs fan KNEW we desperately required a passing midfielder in any of the past 3-4 windows yet we've managed to bring in 2 guys who are rudimentary on the ball at best in Palhinha and Gallagher. The recruitment braintrust truly are braindead - and Frank specifically requesting a destroyer didn't help. Dickheads.

There were moments when I thought it would be Forest instead, as the Spam seemed to have dragged themselves off the deck and found some fight but that moment was brief.

If we run the same numbers for them as we've been doing for ourselves, where are their points to come from?

Only four of their remaining games are against the bottom half — Palace, Newcastle, Leeds, and Wolves - and Wolves turned them over just a few weeks ago. Leeds is the final day, and the Spam will likely be relegated by then.

So tell me — where are they finding the 5 they need to pass us, even if we somehow fail to collect a single additional point?

They are so woeful that we may be safe already, in truth. Chances are even that they do not collect even 5 I suspect.

The drew with United, almost held Chelsea. They'll be set up not to lose. I don't see where we get a point.
