The drew with United, almost held Chelsea. They'll be set up not to lose. I don't see where we get a point.

If we earn even one more point, Spam have to find 6 points for there to be any chance for us to be relegated. They aren't getting points from 4 remaining games with their schedule, they probably would need to win twice.

We are on our worst run of league play in my memory, and yet from the last 10 we have managed 4 points. Most likely we earn 2-3 more points from the last 10 and finish with 31 or 32. That total makes relegation near impossible because the bar for Spam to pass us raises too high.

Spam will never collect 7 on the run-in, and even if they did the scenario requires Forest to earn 4 or 5 more to pass us as well.

During which we haven't been, nor are on track to be, relegated.

Not at all to say we're not massively shite. But we're not going to be relegated.

I still think we’ll just stay up but the worse form team with the most injuries who are showing no fight or seeming clue as what to do & can’t get results is definitely not “ Much ado about nothing “ 👍

For Fucks sake I just woke up with this in my head

Think there are still plenty of fixtures West Ham could pick up points: Everton, Wolves, Brentford, Leeds, Palace, and Newcastle 2nd to last game potentially with nothing to play for. Certainly not beyond the realms that they get 3-4 wins out of those. Hell, even Villa look vulnerable.

I think your prediction is very optimistic - West Ham have been fairly decent recently. V.nearly took points off Chelsea, almost beat United, should've beaten Bournemouth. They're playing miles better than we are and have some in-form players like Summerville and Fernandes. I think we'll definitely need more than 2-3 more points to finish above them.

I reckon we'll need 37-38 pts minimum to survive.

The sad thing is, we are going to have to rely on the likes of Forest, Leeds and West Ham to fail so as we don't, coz this squad of gutless wasters ain't got enough about them to take charge of their own destiny.

They created more chances ce Liverpool than we have against anyone all season

I somewhat can't believe the absolute confidence with which people state things so matter-of-factly about the teams below us not being capable of picking up enough points to surpass us, this is the longest period I can remember going without a league win since Juande Ramos, and there have been so many giant-killings by the (relative) minnows of the league in recent seasons I really don't think any result is at all guaranteed, regardless of the teams playing.

The stadium debt is tiny though. Something like £30m a year in repayments. Even in the Championship, we'd have more revenue than lots of PL clubs. We're not in risk of going bust or anything close to that
But that's if we come straight back up which, to be honest, is not gonna happen. Tudor will leave and most of the squad will be sold. Lange will probably be fired. The latter two are good things because most of the squad is shit and Lange is a bum, but do you trust the board to replace them?

We'll go bargain shopping for Championship-level and C-tier young players that no Prem club wants. Poch/RDZ will not manage us in the Championship, so we'll be stuck with whatever stooge is stupid enough to take over a club in complete free fall with no players and a completely clueless board and CEO.

If we go down, we're going to be down there for at least 2-3 seasons.

There were moments when I thought it would be Forest instead, as the Spam seemed to have dragged themselves off the deck and found some fight but that moment was brief.

If we run the same numbers for them as we've been doing for ourselves, where are their points to come from?

Only four of their remaining games are against the bottom half — Palace, Newcastle, Leeds, and Wolves - and Wolves turned them over just a few weeks ago. Leeds is the final day, and the Spam will likely be relegated by then.

So tell me — where are they finding the 5 they need to pass us, even if we somehow fail to collect a single additional point?

They are so woeful that we may be safe already, in truth. Chances are even that they do not collect even 5 I suspect.
They will win the home games against Wolves, Everton and Leeds.

They actually have a great set of away days - Fulham will have a days less rest and nothing to play for. Newcastle will have fuck all to play for. Brentford fuck all to play for. Palace fuck all to play for - I reckon they get 5 points away and 9 at home - we would need 10 to finish above them.

Can’t wait to see us picking up some Div 2 youngster who could be ready for the Championship in 2-3 seasons time

There's a decent chance we are only a single point above WH thursday night. The issue is that they (and Forest as well) have actual patterns of attacking play and some key players in attack that we are sorely lacking. Add our dreadful form and lack of morale and I just don't get how some of you are still talking like the situation is the same as last year. We are in real danger this time.

We need a minimum of 3 wins , could be 3 wins , 2 draws and the way we’re playing we look a million miles off getting one win .
Yeah agreed. Beat Palace and I think we will beat Forest as well. Fail to beat Palace and I don’t think we beat Forest.

If we only take a max of 2 points from those games then we’re completely reliant on Forest or West Ham just not doing enough rather than us doing the job

Having had some reflection time the only positives right now is that we still control our own destiny and our goal difference is like an extra point right now... no looking ahead anymore... just have to take each game as it comes staring Thursday... We have got to find a way of coming out the traps quickly and getting on the front foot. I know every game is massive but Thursday takes on a whole new meaning. We will go into that game knowing what Leeds, Forest and West Ham have done. Leeds will most likely beat Sunderland who are levelling out now. I doubt Forest get anything at City but I wasn't impressed with Fulham yesterday and can see West Ham getting something. We simply have to win. It doesn't matter how at this stage. Win and we drag Palace back into it and hopefully go 5 clear of Forest and 6 or 7 clear of West Ham.
