Leeds losing yesterday was a good result for us but the reality is they are still 2 points ahead of us and right now we don't look like a team capable of gaining 2 points. The Palace game tonight is massive. I would say its a must win but given our current circumstances I think most of us will accept that a win is highly unlikely. so it is really important that we simply don't lose and gain a point! Every bit matters.

The reality is that we'll need to beat either Forest or Leeds at home to have an chance of staying up. Hopefully West Ham drop off and 36 points is enough to stay up but the reality is we need to get 40+ to be guaranteed safety. Right now I really can't see where that 11 points comes from? That is 3 wins and 2 draws! That feels like an impossible dream right now, and 2 wins and 5 draws sounds even more unrealistic! Where do the 3 wins come from? Maybe we do need to win tonight which really scares me because I just can't see how we win tonight! Wolves away now looks a rotten fixture. Forest, Leeds and Everton at home are the only other winnable fixtures I see but we won't be odds on favourites to win any of them games now. Its a very scary situation. I can't see us making 40 points so we'll be relying on West Ham to drop off and not get to 35 points. I think we'll prob end up on around 36 or 37 points.
yeah. I reckon it might go to the final day.

It’s tomorrow (Thursday) night.

Two of my all time heroes ; Chris Jones put Jersey football on the map , and Gerry Armstrong almost single-handedly , nearly / could have won the WC for Northern Ireland . All this in addition to what they achieved for us . I won’t have a word said against either of them .

Just want to put this out there . These things matter .

I'm not slagging them.

They helped to get the club promoted and remained part of the squad for a few seasons after.

Chris Jones scored 37 in 164 and Gerry Armstrong scored 10 in 84 for Spurs

The observation was made regarding the quality of the current strikers.

Archibald, Crooks and Falco replaced Gerry Armstrong and Chris Jones in the first team around 1980.

I would suggest the quality of strikers at Spurs has remained at a similar level to that until Son left.

Iversen and Chris Armstrong were a bit of a drop off but Les Ferdinand and Sheringham pulled the standard up a little bit above what we have now.

I just wish more fans would boycott. That is the one thing that would actually force the owners' hand.
Some of the attendance figures being put out do not correlate with the visual eye test.
When you say force their hand what do you actually mean?
Lower tickets prices - never going to happen
Sell the club - not when they believe they can get over 3 billion for it
Sack another manager - maybe but don't see the point in that
Spend big - they've been saying this for 20+ years - we spend on fees not on wages and I don't see that changing

Realistic/cautiously optimistic view of our remaining fixtures

Palace (H) - draw
Liverpool (A) - lose
Forest (H) - win
Sunderland (A) - lose
BHA (H) - win
Wolves (A) - lose
Villa (A) - lose
Leeds (H) - win
Chelsea (A) - lose
Everton (H) - draw

I am minded to think we might just about stay up as Forest and W-Ham have harder run ins. But this is pretty appalling we found ourselves here anyway. If we went down it would be pretty disgraceful given our resources and financial power. I think I'd be minded to write to the club, even (not that it would make much difference!)

Our form over last 70 odd matches makes interesting reading.

24/25
MW 1-8 = 7th
MW 9-18 =-15th
MW19-28 =-15th
MW29-38 =-19th

25/26
MW1-8 =6th
MW9-18 =16th
MW19-28 =20th
MW29-38 ?????????

That’s pretty damming fucking reading.

Official attendance figures will start at the current number of season ticket holders, which is around 42,000. So with 3,000 away fans, plus the amount of members still buying tickets, I doubt attendances will drop below 52,000 even if all ST holders boycott.

The only power you have is boycott.
I've kind of done that though. Six years as a ST holder then went down to a membership in 2023. I've only attended one live game this year which feels pathetic by my standards but I don't regret it. The club are getting much less time and money out of me. I'll always support Spurs but I've definitely reduced my levels of engagement over the past 2-3 years.

If we don’t beat Palace then I cannot see us winning that Forest game. That would be a humongous game for both of us and this team have shown that they never rise to such occasions. I think Forest will have that game marked out as the one to really kickstart their survival.

BHA (H) - lose
Wolves (A) - lose
Villa (A) - win
Leeds (H) - win
Chelsea (A) - win ( standard )
Everton (H) - game can not be stopped

If my maths are correct I make that 536 points plus a bonus point for scoring more than 6 in a game

Calm down

In recent seasons we always start well, and start playing as a relegation candidate side in the latter stage of the season.

Fitness levels probably play a part in that, which Igor has spoken about.

Prioritisation on the EL last season and poor performances overall.

This group of players always react to managers, and quickly revert back to type which is absolute rubbish, but its not as if we were that good in the beginning of the season under Frank.

If we say it how it is, theres no way we are near the relegation zone if we didnt suffer so many injuries. Kudus, Maddison, Kulu and Bergvall would be a massive help and elevate us to higher positions.
