Beinh reported this information is from last published accounts.

“The numbers illuminate the scale of recalibration required. Tottenham’s wage bill for 2023-24 stood at £222m, the lowest among the so called “big six” clubs. By comparison, Manchester City spent £413m over the same period.”

So not sure what 24/25 wage bill would be like. I’m guessing increased bonuses for winning Europa league.

But I would say your guess of £140m is way out.
I don't think it's way out. About £140m is the reported amount, consistent with other clubs. The players are NOT on an average of £10m per squad player. That would imply guys like Romero are on what ... £20m ... no chance.

I think that £276m number is all wages. Playing staff and other staff. A bit of it will be player bonuses. Guess ... maybe 30-40m. and the coach and coaching team. And maybe also any pay-offs. 900 other staff sharing max c£100m equals just over £100k fully loaded cost per head, which makes sense.

Each month, I go drinking with a Woolwich fan and a Liverpool fan. For years we lagged behind them in the league, and I took plenty of stick. But then, with Redknapp followed by Poch, it gave me almost about 8 years of bragging rights in terms of league position, always finishing above them.

I have to say, it takes some real pathetic levels of mismanagement to fall this far backwards since the Champions League final. Not only that, but Utd showed everyone how quickly you can turn around a poor season and league placing by making good decisions. Our lot just seem incapable.

Looking back, it was pure luck that Poch had cheap players that came good, and that it was Poch who was managing them. Levy and ENIC didn't have the capability to design that scenario, the cards just fell right in spite of them not because of them. The owner ongoing porr judgement, from what was a great position, that got us to where we are today.

Looking at momentum, fight, spirit and form, I think that if we don't win tonight, we're finished, especially with the guaranteed defeats that are ahead of us in the fixture list.

The big difference is they are football clubs.

Since the new stadium went up, WTF are we ?

Look at the Lewis family, look at anyone at a high level, see any football people, football interest or football knowledge there ?

We employ fucking gooners at the top, shows how much the football counts don’t it ?

Everyone here cares man. It's just that some of us see the writing on the wall and are preemptively accepting relegation rather than pretending it won't happen so we can be numb to the onslaught of abuse and taunting we'll get for next decade.

Nobody is pretending it won't happen but that's different from accepting its inevitability, with 10 games to go.

How have West Ham nearlyv caught us? By accepting relegation,or fighting against its likelihood?

I get your point but let's try believing.

That will not work.

We need to shame these cunts into making tackles and working hard for 90 minutes.

Do it by humiliating them.

Summerville and Bowen are no better than what we have at our best.

We just have had no players who have stood up. It is quite inconceivable.

And hear this mate, if we win we are above all those teams, so explain away your theory, and I don't mean that in a disrespectful way.
What do you mean what we have at our best?

Including Maddison and Kulu makes no sense as they have been injured all season.

We are talking about the reality of the here and now.

No serious football club would hire a top executive from their biggest rival. Could you imagine what would happen if Rangers hired Celtic's CEO or Atletico hired a top guy from Real?

Crystal palace don't score much, but they don't seem to concede many either
It's gonna be a tight crappy 1 nil to someone.

Worry about sarr down our left a bit
I saw some comments after the Utd game that they were well in it until the sending off and arguably the better side. I didn’t see it so don’t know but am expecting the worst.

Although that’s my fucking football life now, expecting the worst.

:memeokay:

My only hope here is that perhaps some of our players now grasp the reality of the drop and will have some personal shame about being involved in it.

I’m not sure if that’s enough anyway - as has been written we don’t have the match-winning quality of Forest or arguably even West Ham. But perhaps, as a long shot, maybe this group of players does have something inside them after all.
