I've reached the point where if we can only get Dyche on a long-term deal, just do it. If he keeps us up then he deserves next season anyway, and the cost of the deal has paid for itself. The football will be total shit, but at least he can drill a better attitude into these sorry pricks. We can always sack him after next season if it's proper turgid. I don't trust De Zerbi to keep us up. Just play it safe.
I honestly don't think anyone can turn it around. Most of the players have already checked out.
Dyche kicking arse or Redknapp cuddling them will make no difference

he gets absolute pelters here from people who refuse to credit what he managed after taking over from AVBs fucking fiasco half season.

kept it simple
selected the best players available
showed more tactical nous than I thought he had
won a really good amount of pts
over 38 matches wouldve been 72.5 not shabby at all

I'd be happy with him, ditto H, and using Ben Davies as assistant in either case
He's not a long term manager, but he is capable, on a pure tactical/common sense ethic of sorting this mess out.

Someone else did raise an issue though that is valid. He's publicly slagged a lot of players off over the last year or 2.
Not beyond the realms of belief they'd be twatty enough to hold a grudge.
And absolutely nailed on that if they didn't see/read him slagging them off, they'll be made aware of it by rivals and the media (the same, aren't they?)

Done this a few times now, not even being overly biased towards us , have The Title going down to the last game of the season, and Us needing a win against Everton to stay up.

Problem is I bet it didn’t predict we would lose to palace, forest, West Ham and draw with Burnley and Liverpool.

You’d be as well looking at some tarot cards to predict the future!

have you ever seen our players check out like this before. I don’t think I have.
I'm not even sure they all have.

They were still trying to fight for Tudor at Anfield (came back from behind) , vs Atletico at home and first half vs Forest. It's more like their confidence is so fragile they just collapse under pressure. There's also a lot of anger and blame getting dished out by Vicario, Romero and VdV every time a goal goes in.

At this point mate I think relegation might be BETTER in the longer term than escape. As you point out that Vicario Romero VDV finger pointing is a cancer.

I sat down two months ago and went game by game and I could NOT work out how we'd stay up. Nothing has changed. When I reconciled myself to relegation I went through three years of games and worked out who has the most fingerprints as players ( beyond the coaches) on the failure to take points. As this is the truest metric in football. In this order in totality its. Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van De Ven, Bentancur, Bissouma, Udogie, Spence, Sarr,Danso, Richarlison, Bergvall, Maddison, Dragusin, Solanke, Grey, Tel, Odobert, RKM, Kudus,

People need to put aside their favorites. Put aside the Richarlison worldie Micky super sprint. Romero's line breaking pass. football know-how at the club is minimal. This most basic metric needs to be part of how we simply assess the fit for purpose as an EPL squad these guys are. Get them.out in the order of performance culpablility.

I suspect it will depends what offers we get for players. Obviously we'd all like to keep Archie Gray, for example, but if we get a big offer for him but nobody wants Sarr, we'll probably sell Gray. We'd all like to keep Vuskovic but his stock is so high right now that we might feel that selling him is inevitable.

From an earlier post, it said that all the players have a religation clause in their contracts that provides for a wage cut. Does anyone know if that is mandatory or can the club select players to keep their current wages?

Ends up being Poch don’t even think Gallagher goes for good or for bad. The back 5 have let us down but still will be worth over £100m easily.
How much do we owe on them though ?

He's 29? But yeah otherwise agree. We should work on the assumption Maddison won't have a meaningful impact until next season (if he's still here).
Oh I thought he was older sir some reason. I still don't think he'll ever be the same player he was. He was already very injury prone before this. Hope I'm very wrong.

I think he'll stay, no one is going to pay money for him and the wages, coming off that injury I don't think. So at least that's good news.

Do any switched-on and informed people out there know how many of the teams around us have loads of players going off on international duty . I reckon WHAM will have a few . What about Forest and Leeds ?

I’m assuming we’ll be the most affected . It’’ll only compound our task if the other clubs will have a core of first-team players who’ll get R and R and time to work in training ( not to mention the injury risks and jet-lag they’ll avoid ) .

Anybody know , offhand ?
