Were our injuries this bad before the new stadium? Genuinely curious if there's a strong correlation. I don't remember it being quite this bad, but we did tend to have players who got injured and not return the same pretty often (Sandro, Scott Parker, wanyama, Dele, winks (arguable).

I don't recall players getting injured for 5 months at a time frequently like it has been the past few seasons. Even harry injury prone kane always came back usually on the expected timeline and just as strong.

I have a theory based on insurance and risk but it's so boring I'd send myself to sleep, let alone everyone else.

Win tomorrow, stick West Ham back in the relegation zone and then spend all week listening to them moan about no matter what they do they can’t just get out of it and listen to the Goonies moaning about Arteta and the bottle jobs.

What a time to be alive that would be

Sick of these players and their fucking injuries .
We are going to need to start signing a much tougher breed of player to compete in the championship

It’s an interesting one ; they certainly trumpeted the new pitch technology ( irrespective of the sliding bit ) . I’m guessing that other venues also use the same form of hybrid pitch . So maybe they’re something specific about ours that isn’t optimal when it comes to avoiding injuries to those using it .

Also ; they were also keen to stress the high-tech of the pitches and training surfaces at Hotspur Way . Possibly also a factor?

Obviously we can’t ( at present) know for sure ; but I agree with you that it can’t be discounted out of hand ( to say the least).

It’s an interesting and very valid question imo .

I don’t subscribe to this. I think some fans definitely do. Those that don’t will be the ones still supporting us and spending money on the club if we are in the championship next season. All the hangers on can fuck off for a season or more. I’ll be delighted to get rid of them.

Hopefully weed out the chaff in the Season Ticket ranks. Get some proper yids back in. COYS

Someone said it on a podcast, I think it was Rosa on RTR, a lot of our players are internationals, we play in several competitions like a big club, but our squad is not built like a big club that can rest and rotate senior players.

It’s the lack of serious squad building. The players get worked until they break down, which leads to more and more of the same. It’s a vicious spiral.
And that's exactly it, and it's been the case for years.

Levy balked at paying decent wages to first choice players. He never had any intention of paying what it cost to build a squad big enough for four competitions — that simply wasn't happening. We lack even the minute-eaters required for midweek in the fall to save bodies for the late stages in the spring. It's the fumbling of basic needs while pinching pennies that infuriates me so

Much easier to put together a squad in the Brentford mould, aim for the last European spot and just collect the steady money. Nice earner if you've got no real ambition to speak of.

Any operation run with both eyes on the bottom line will do the same. Do whatever gets you the steadiest, highest top line with no risk. Results don't matter unless the tickets stop selling.

Prices are never going down again. That's what happens when you move into a Rolls Royce of a stadium.

It happens everywhere that the old ground is replaced. The regulars move backward and upward, more seats are created below them for the upper crust. The noise coming from above will always be diluted by those sitting below, most of whom who pay the most and care the least. Doubt you'll ever see yids and yobs within reach of the cameras again

I’ve been worried that we could get dragged into a serious relegation battle ever since that Leicester side went down in 2023. That team had some more quality than we have currently this season. I was worried that our recruitment under Paratici was building a really bad mishmash team of shit, and obviously that didn’t improve under Lange.

The truth is that we’ve been signing lower midtable to relegation level dross since the turn of the decade. I mean the football we’ve played has been shit and the technical level of the squad was on the floor since 2021, it goes to show how poor we’ve been that even with a player of Harry Kanes quality we still looked like a bang average side for most of those years.

It's more of a training ground thing for me. Most of our players seem to get injured at training iirc?
