It's more of a training ground thing for me. Most of our players seem to get injured at training iirc?

Not really. Of the currently injured lot, Maddison, Deki, Davies, Odobert, Kudus, Bentancur all got injured in matches.

I wouldn’t say we get an abnormal amount of training ground injuries. It seems to be a combination of bad luck, incompetent medical staff, poor conditioning, reckless managers and some flimsy players who are made of glass to begin with.

It’s the same root cause as all our other problems, the people running the club have no football expertise and are just coasting and making shit up as they go along.

Someone said it on a podcast, I think it was Rosa on RTR, a lot of our players are internationals, we play in several competitions like a big club, but our squad is not built like a big club that can rest and rotate senior players.

It’s the lack of serious squad building. The players get worked until they break down, which leads to more and more of the same. It’s a vicious spiral.
Yeah - in part it's the knock-on effect of a team as poor as us ending up in the Champions League.

Normally when a team finishes 17th on 36 points they won't be in Europe at all the following season, let alone the CL. They have a season to regroup with minimal mid-week matches to worry about.

I think Frank would've failed regardless, but without the CL distraction we v.likely pick up fewer injuries and more points in the first half of the season - certainly enough to keep in the division. Especially given CL has now been expanded and there are more games than ever.

It's ironic but I think if we hadn't won Europa we wouldn't be on the brink of relegation and it would just be a bog-standard lower-mid-table bad season rather than this apocalyptic mess.

(And before any of you come at me - no I'm not downplaying the Europa win or saying we shouldn't have won it or whatever)

If you finish 18th you stay up :nunothumb:

Still think the Championship would be fun.

Academy kids in the squad, different teams to play, no VAR, no woolwich, no chelscum, no Michael Oliver, no Jarred Gillet, No Alan Smith on commentary, no fucking ref watch with Dermot the goblin.
I understand your sentiment but it also means selling some players that I would like to keep.
Gray, Bergy and Vusko would all probably leave.
I hope that De Zerbi keeps us up and gets the chance to do a thorough revamp with his choice of players.

This is what we all hope. Today is not so much about De Zerbi but more about the players. Do they have anything in the locker to drag us out of the mess they've put us in. There is only so much De Zerbi can contribute but these players need to step up, believe they can win a football match and not crumble at the first sign of adversity. I was banking on Kudus giving us a bit of a lift but he's done for the season so it's the same players who have been poor all season and sadly I don't see any reason that they will stop being poor today. And that's not a slight on De Zerbi who I do think can sort this mess out given time. However, he doesn't have time. I'm at the stage that until I see something different then the likelihood is it'll be more of the same. Hope I'm wrong.

It’s now at the stage where we can’t look at results elsewhere and the only focus has to be on our games from the players.

As I said the other day, I think this is a bigger game than Forest (because of that 3 week break). I actually expected a couple more players back, which hasn’t happened though, which is a shame and what I was basing a lot on. No kudus, as frustrating as he is, is probably the difference between us staying up and going down unless someone else can suddenly step up and get us some assists.

We simply have to stop conceding two goals (or more) a game though. Until we do that, we aren’t winning any matches.

We get spanked, De Zerbi throws a massive conte like tantrum, gets sacked and we appoint Redknapp.

Only jokin. I have no idea whats going to happen today. These players has gave us absolutely no reason to believe anything can change. Thats the reality.

Pressure is really on us today after the Hams doing what they had to do and put us in this situation .Really don't know what to expect but agree think if we lose we are on the way down .

Hopefully we get one or two players back in the coming weeks. That's one thing.

3 weeks has hopefully helped clear the heads somewhat. Now, a new voice.

The 'bounce is easier if you start at home with a perceptively easy match. Some of Tudor's undoing. Today, who knows, but all the so-called positivity and appeal of De Zerbi's input must be reflected with a result or all that begins to evaporate. The best example this season has been Carrick. Worst, Tudor and that manager before Frank at Forest. Momentum goes both ways

It won't be easy, there will be nerves galore, and it's nearly impossible to believe that we won't concede, so we will need to score 2 or 3 one would think.

Other results matter but can't be relied on unless we do our bit.

It's nearly mid-April so I'm not going to predict a win when we haven't seen that this year, but if we won the pressure shifts massively.

We absolutely do have the players..No time like now to prove it. I pray to God De Zerbi has made that point.

Unless we loan them out and try to come straight back up.

Would be a bitter pill to see them shine at another club after developing them and paying the price for it

I just think we can only focus on ourselves and performing. Can’t worry about the other games. We need to win soon though and for me it has to be today. I think anything less than a win and we will be in deep trouble. A loss gives all those teams above us a massive massive boost. Win though and instead they start to shit themselves that bringing de zerbi is has already worked.

None of us want to go into that Everton game on the last day of the season requiring a result.

There have been conversations had behind the scenes at the FA and PGMOL to send us down as it will be the best story of the year. That I have no doubt of. The refereeing today has clearly been pre-ordained to send a message.

That’s why I’m so confident we’re down.

Doesn’t seem to matter who the manager is. The players just lack conviction. If there is a wrong decision to be made, then they will make it. Every single one of them. They are a poor set of players and an even worse team

Today has been more of the same. It isn’t even the big decisions it’s the 50-50s. They never go our way with the referees and eventually they just take their toll
