Hmm think we all need to lower the pitch forks and take a breath.

We've seen him be clinical on the biggest stage, the world cup and champions league.
Let's see what Angie can do with him over the summer

Yeah, I wish we had a different player for the money we spent on him, but he's a busy player capable of doing bits. Erratic, but not without positive traits that the coach can work with.

What pitch forks? I see a justifiable questioning of aspects of his game. Your comment to me comes across as defensive and odd frankly. We don't 'All' need to put down anything I personally haven't taken up any weapon, I'm just using my eyes. That's what we do here discuss our players.

Agreed and strikers almost always suffer unless they are the main man. It’s just how it is. Underneath Kane we never see more than the glimpse of the player. Maybe Kane will go. Or maybe not.

you cant say soldado is worse or even janssen, both cost way less and produced more albeit shit
Soldado has a touch and passed the ball. This pigeonhead has no touch and runs about aimlessly, no clue about offside or clever movement. Ball bouncing around all over the place

Sell. 40M for him and 90M for Kane should help get Osihmen with a bit on top, perhaps GLC in part ex

Honestly, he wasn't that bad. I know it feels like he was with the amount of times he was offside and the missed chances, but he was definitely causing trouble for them with his off the ball movement.

Finishing is a problem but it's also a problem that can be easily fixed with coaching. Also Ange's system doesn't require a 9 who scores a ton of goals anyway.

People really getting twisted about his finishing in the first pre season friendly?

He didn't miss easy chances last season, he had 3-4 good finishes ruled out for off side (at least 2 were BS) and other than that we didn't create chances for him.

He's decent finisher.

The use of the word "Sitters" has over-zealously crept in; both in terms of last season and yesterday.

Apparently he was offside all the time yesterday too; even though we only had 2 off-sides all game!

He's still got it all to prove in our shirt; but it's senseless stacking the deck against him with false rhetoric.

Watching back I would say he had 1.5 chances. The full chance he hit the post on Lo Chelso’s lovely through ball.

Half chance was a back post header but the cross didn’t have a lot of velocity on it so it was tough to generate power.

Everything else was him chasing after balls into the box.

Think both striker options will need to be tuned into the system.

Kane (if he's here.....) needs to recognise that in this style of play with two 8/10's in midfield (and us generally pushing up much higher and compressing the space/play) he needs to stay up top rather than being able/allowed to do his own thing and drop off the front as he has done the last few years.

Whilst it was only 45 mins, Richarlison's natural game to play up against the backline and offer something in behind seemed a better initial fit for the system. But he will never be the tidiest footballer, and I think he has to work on the "poacher" predatory instincts within the width of the goalposts that this style of play needs and eg. Kyogo provided at Celtic for AP's system. There were a number of times you saw Perisic in particular doing his swede in when he felt Richy wasn't anticipating or making a good enough run across goal to be picked out.

Guess we'll see who is a. here, and b. adapts quicker in the coming weeks.
