Will return early to Brazil from vacation to work on next season

Fucking fantastic attitude this is what we need

Obviously, as anyone can see from my avi, Richy is one of my favourite Spurs players and we haven't seen his best yet. Not even in his purple patch. His attitude it what sets him apart from so many of the drifters we have signed in the past. Get me a team of Richy, Romero, Porro types that have a real competitor in them. Then you let them influence the likes of VDV and Udogie or Sarr to have a similar mentality.

We could definitely upgrade to a striker out there that offers more than him but for the kind of money this club will invest it's going to take a world class bit of scouting. If anyone thinks Gimenez or Toney are keeping Richy out of the starting lineup when he's fit, they are going to be disappointed.

If we signed Toney or Giminez they will 100% start before Richarlison. It would then be up to them or whoever we sign to stay as number 1.

Gimenez I'll give the benefit of the doubt because we haven't seen who he is in the premier league yet.

Toney is never doing the work out of possession to start the majority of games in this system. He scored 20 prem goals in one season and 6 of them were penalties. Other than that he's not been a prolific goal scorer in 2/3 seasons.

He does give you a decent target for long balls and can hold the ball up better than Richy but that isn't enough to win the starting role in this system. He's basically a budget Harry Kane without the finishing.

We're in a bit of a tight spot with Richy because he's in the bracket of player just below the top strikers who are about as good as you'll get without splashing 80m+ to replace him. I don't see the striker market being deep enough for us to go and replace him with anybody that Spurs will realistically sign and make a marked improvement on him, so I would expect the money to be invested elsewhere unless a really good opportunity arises.

I know most people won't like it, but Richy / Son / young striker (ie Veliz or Scarlett or whoever) is most likely going to be the CF option next season. That is unless we get a remarkable offer for Richy that I don't see happening.

I agree. Too many teams with big big money, CL football, etc need strikers to go pay big money on one right now. To some degree we need to be ok with taking shots on cheaper, developmental players at times and this is one of those scenarios.

Son is the starting left winger. Ange has been pretty clear on that.

We'll probably bring someone of equal level to Richi in and have them rotate and fight for the starting spot.

Toney and Richarlison played basically the same number of minutes this season. Richarlison scored 11. Toney scored 4.

Yeah, Toney would definitely start over Richie.

:pochcmon:

Toney had a bad season. With everything going on, understandable.

When Richy had a bad season (last season) he got a single league goal. And he’s worse at everything outside of goalscoring compared to Toney.

Too many people still trying to replace Kane. It’s never going to happen.
