Player Richarlison

Agree about the market being poor

Not much proven talent on the market

I know he is another young striker but I like Kroupi at Bournemouth......he is giving Defoe vibes with both his playing style and personality.
Kroupi has been great but he’s not played striker much for Bournemouth. He’s more been a Dele type shadow striker

There’s a dearth of great strikers out there. I’d probably go for Samu at Porto. 6’5”, built like a tank and very mobile for his size. He’s kinda built for the Prem. Still raw but he’s played alot of top level football for his age. Him and Vuskovic would be a cheat code at set pieces too if we can get consistent delivery.

Please show me the last time Richy scored from range or beat a man with pace. He's much better with his head, though, I'll give you that.

Like 90% of Richy's goals are first time finishes. If he has to take more than 1 touch (i.e. not close range) he doesn't score.

I don't even particularly like Solanke, but he's got a better first touch, better control, better link-up, better vision - he's just a better footballer.

Richy's great at poaching, scoring headers and the occasional wonder-volley...and falling on the floor a lot. That's basically his entire game.
That's a bit harsh because it's asking for examples of things we know that he can't do, and never has, he is just what he is.
He's a poacher and a finisher, a reactions striker who won't look pretty but has the instinct to score goals, and some incredible ones at that.

Yeah, he's not silky, he's not quick and if he has too long to think about what he's doing he'll probably fluff his lines but that shouldn't detract from the fact that he's very good at doing what he's supposed to, scoring goals.

Solanke is easier on the eye but I don't want my striker to be look aesthetically pleasing, I want them to be effective at putting the ball in the net.

Neither big Dom or Richy are top strikers but I do feel Richy gets a lot of stick because he's not a pretty player, while his scoring ability gets forgotten.
For me, it's a tough choice between the two but I think Richarlison's goals edge it in his favour.

Fuck me!! Do we never fucking learn. Entertaining keeping or offering a new contract to Richarlison is just plain stupid. We will never improve with type of player. Hopefully the people in charge don’t think like some of our fans but I don’t trust those idiots.
Even as a back up it’s ludicrous. Make Solanke the back up and go try get someone who can improve us in how we are going to play. Richarlison is a clogger who makes everything untidy and stop start. Solanke is much better but injury prone this season but I’d rather him as our back up.
It comes down to personal opinion about the two strikers as there not much between them but the reality is that we're not going to be able to sell everyone.
Some are going to have to stay for another season at least.

It all comes down to who we are able to replace, and hopefully improve, them with.

And although I missed most of it (typical), that seems to be the best performance of the season and reading on the Beeb about the performance, Richi's pressing was paramount to the performance, so there's Solanke's big advantage gone.
I also think Dom's ability on the ball is vastly overrated here, he's also a poor footballer.
His pressing was very good and not only relentless but also very intelligent.
He was positioning himself to try to cut off two passing options every time, or at least pressure them as options.
Of course, the organised and high press helped him but he did it very well, they all did.

Should get 1 goal out of him the next two games. Based on his league goals per minute.

Then Everton. Usual rule is your score against your old team.
Don’t let me down premier league storyline writers!!

Missed a number of decent chances yet again. I want to sympathize with his mental health issues, but at the business end he's been a complete and utter waste of time and money. I wish we had kept Lankshear this whole season instead of Richy.

How slow Is he now. Their CBs could give him 10 yards and still catch him. Awful touch and technique in pretty much everything he does apart from heading. He’s not alone, so many technically poor players and players with low football IQ. Whatever happens I can’t wait to see this team ripped up. Keep Bergvall, Maddison, Kinsky a couple others but I can’t watch so many of these players. It’s painful

I have no idea how he managed to play for the Brazilian national team. Very poor touch, poor technique and bloody darn slow.

Yes he scores goals, but he just doesnt have the right skillset to perform consistently
