Player Richarlison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Think it’s been reached. That LWF spot is his to lose now.

Him, Maddison and Son are the most intense pressing unit I can remember and Kulu is no slouch off the ball either
100%. Back on it but Richy is so whatever the opposite of clinical is - If he could finish he’d be a top top player - As it is he’s more than solid on the LW and contributing. Happy to have him in the starting 11.

Another player who is back after the number our former manager did on all our attacking players. I’m lovin Big Ange instead!

Yeah I think with him we just need to accept he’s never going to be a ruthless finisher but gives you other things. He probably catches a hot spot for a while if he plays every week though.

I’d bet on a goal vs Palace now

I said it on the match thread last night that I’m his biggest critic but I thought first half he was excellent.
Second half he thinks he’s made it and tries to get clever. He even tried to control the ball with his back and take the piss and Ange was fucking raging with him. He’s not good enough or consistent enough to start that shit. He then went back to what he’s been since he’s signed with us.
If he can play like he did first half then he might have a future with us. He will never be a guy who scored regularly as history tells us that.

Worked his socks off but still not (yet) seeing the player he was at Everton. That said his overall performance is good enough to make the position his if he continues in this vein although I do think Ange showed once again evidence his patience is being tested with some wasteful attempts and brainfart moments.

Sure focus on what he can do rather than what he can’t - He’s a better passer than I gave him credit for (3 assists in recent games), presses really well and he give us a strong aerial presence in the front line (which is the one attacking attribute where Sonny is really lacking).

Not gonna bet but will be hoping for a Richy header into the back of the net Vs Palace.

% of goals from the two primary goal threats for the top 6:

City: 68%
Pool: 50%
Newc: 46%
Us (ie. Son & Maddison): 45%
Villa: 43%
Woolwich: 39%

We're fine.
We are fine, unbeaten and top. But hand on heart, if you were to improve the team would Richarlison not be the first player in the starting xi you'd upgrade? That list of teams, I don't think Richarlison starts for any of them.

Our wide attackers are the weakest part of the starting eleven.

Agree it's his spot to lose now, but it's also because we don't have a better alternative as of yet.

We really need a statement forward signing in january to complement Son and Madders.

I wonder what they do with the next forward.

Long term planning for life after Son needs to start but not too early or the player will ride the bench.

LWF would be good but then we have a logjam.

Hopefully, things look clearer before January.

He's nowhere near good enough to be a starting LW for a team fighting for the top 4; he'll never score the goals we need. However, his pressing tonight was immense, and he worked really hard. But that just isn't good enough.

He never looked like scoring.

His technique is still awful.

Just look at the moment at 1:14 in the video, when he receives a great ball from PEH. It's laughable really.

There is a difference between a mistake and having poor technique.

that wasn't a difficult ball to control or 2nd touch, he just made a mistake, that happens to all players. Richy is just mistake-prone in a Spurs shirt so far.

Once again showing why he belongs in the first team.
Agree, last night his psychology looked much better. After the poor shot, frustration didn’t linger on his demeanour.

The back control was a silly moment, where his Ego took advantage of his sensibilities, pretty sure Ange or a Coach will tell him in a supportive way that is never the play.

Get the feeling he will continue to flourish (those who can’t see the uptick since his “seek help”, maybe need to give him more time, IMO), if the help continues to improve his “stickiness“ release more readily.

Aftr a very sluggish first 10months, he created a lot of great moments. Meh second half but they mostly were.

His goal contributions recently is actually pretty good, he's working hard as well - maybe there's a future for him after all but as a winger not a striker
