Why do people keep banging on about Richy being ‘Brazils number 9’. This is a very average Brazil team, the worst in my lifetime. The days of Brazil teams being full of world class players are long gone
That´s true. Brazil lost it´s protagonism. Right now, Argentina and Uruguai are the main forces of South America. We have good players here and there. No more a strong squad...

I remember watching the 1994 WC finals, 1998 WC finals, 2002... even 2006 was good, but it went downhill.

There is no way Richie is going to Saudi, he wants to stay with us and improve himself. He's been going through mental and physical difficulty, lets see how he does when he comes back.

Nah, if decent money is offered in January then get rid. We need to be ruthless.

We should have learned our lesson by now, big money players who flop almost never turn it around. We need to move him on quickly before he ends up staying here for years like Lo Celso and Ndombele. He has made almost no meaningful contribution, there is no reason to keep him.

Yeah I know, I mean the move won't happen until the Summer...

I think give him a go after he is fit. If he has been playing through pain just to play for us then his attitude is very good and shows his commitment. His instincts are good, but perhaps due to pain / lack of confidence / mobility he hasn't banged many goals in. Not like he hasn't had scoring chances, at least he gets in the right place. He has a few assists too.
Ange may be able to get more out of him when he is actually fit. Still think he can come good. If we have to get rid of him better to do so in the summer I think not mid season when we will also lose Son to Asian Games. Need to keep him as he knows us and Ange at least for then. Don't want too many changes is what I'm getting at around that period.

Not going to go to Saudi Arabia. He loves playing for Brazil and given the forward options Brazil have he cant be playing in Saudi Arabia if he wants to get picked.

Any sale would be a massive lo$$ as the only non-PL clubs who can pay big money are PSG, Real Madrid & Barcelona & none of these clubs want him. There also doesn't appear to be a Premier League club willing to make an offer.

There is also no way Levy would drop the price all the way down to 20-25m to entice bids from upper mid-tier Spanish or Italian teams.

He isnt going anywhere soon.

Your homework is lacking, mate.

Neymar for 90 mil
MALCOM for 60 mil (!!) YES, that Malcom. 2 caps for Brazil, same age as Richie brought from Russian league.
OTAVIO for 60 mil (!!) - I don't know who is is and 90% here have not heard about him either, I bet.
May I note, that all those 3 are ... Brazilian attacking players?
While Neymar is a brand, they also paid 120 mil combined for two nothing-players.

But let's keep going.
Mitrovic for 53 mil - in no way is Mitrovic more of a high-profile player than Richie
Fabinho for 47 mil - DM that is 29... not as gross overpayment but still, no one in Europe would have taken him for that
Mane for 30 mil - year earlier left for same money from Liverpool due to short contract. got year older, flopped badly in Bayern and had long contact (which usually means higher value)
Jota for 29 mil - lad has highest market value in his career of 13 mil (!)

So this quick Google-job resulted in ... 6 players grossly overpaid for, even if we leave out Neymar where there could be some debate due to his "brand".
Two of them are totally unknown Brazilian forwards that have nothing to show for compared to Richie.
Three are Brazilians.

So... yes... the are paying excessive fees.
Do your homework as well then. Otavio is Portuguese

Do not blame an ongoing injury on missing chances because he can’t finish. If he can get on the pitch he’s still fit to play. A nagging injury does not make you become a terrible finisher.

We need to learn from the mistakes of the past. We have been guilty of holding onto average players for far too long & it ultimately, ends up costing us. We need to be far more ruthless when it comes to getting rid of players who are not going to make the grade, even if we do end up having to take a big hit on what we payed for them.

I did not blame the fact he's not finishing entirely on his injury. Said also lack of confidence (his mental health issues) Anyway a niggly injury is not ideal, on top of mental health problems.
Despite that he has tried his absolute hardest, and he seems well liked by all as well...
so why is it beyond the bounds of possibility that once properly fit, within a more standard first eleven team (not our current one!) he starts scoring at least semi regularly and more assists too?
Finishing can be worked on but if his instincts to get in the correct place to score are not even there then that would be a bit worrying. But he is at least getting scoring chances as his instincts are there still.

Let’s keep him because he’s well liked 🤣🤣Firstly, trying his hardest is a prerequisite. Secondly, having mental health issue still does not stop you being a good finisher and thirdly,I’m not buying into the fact that he’s not been fit for that long. At the end of the day if we can get the chance to cash in and recoup then we should. To only have scored 5 goals in nearly 18 months and not one with his feet tells us he’s not going to get better.
The flip side to that is I think he’s effective on the left at home when he has more space. He can’t play in tight areas because he’s far too untidy of a footballer.
That’s why he’s been utterly abysmal against Luton,Bournemouth,Burnley,Fulham and Palace.

They're the International version of Forest or Villa...

Had their day, went into the doldrums for a while, and maybe, just maybe are starting to pick themselves up a bit now ...

This is how Levy will se it, but it's completely the wrong way of looking at it.
If we sold him on January 1st for £20m that would be a £40m loss on the fee. But it would be a saving on his wages of roughly £16.5m for the 3.5 years he'd have left.
And on top of that, if we refused to sell him for a loss and he carries on under performing, that's a total loss of £60m transfer fee plus £23.4m in wages.
If you sign a player for £60m on almost £5m a season and they deliver week in week out, they've paid for themselves.
Richarlison so far has been a massive flop. His last chance is coming back from this surgery a completely different player. If he doesn't, then even selling him for a huge loss in the fee is better than keeping him for 3.5 more years.

Don't think we will agree on this.

Let's see what if any improvement comes after he is recovered. His recent play easily warrants at least this in my view.
