Management Roberto De Zerbi

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

From the training clips, RDZ is putting emphasis on moving the ball quicker...proper football. A lot of these players are going to struggle. Hanging onto the ball too long kills a team trying to get tempo, very few players ever are actually useful when they hang onto the ball too long.
It certainly won't suit Bentancur when he comes back...not sure about kulu either...

How is he a top coach? He's done okay but nothing to warrant him being in the conversation as a top coach.

Unless we get an entirely new XI l, built on what footballing principles he has, we're finishing nowhere near the top 4. I'm sure you said the same about the last manager too.
I agree there's no way we'd be near top 4 if we stay up - team needs far too much surgery for that.

After 2 seasons in the mud we'll need at least a season to recover and rebuild, whichever division we're in.

It's ok lads, not won in 2026, not won in 15 games (apologies I've forgotten). Playing shit, losing to all and sundry.
Let's go out and celebrate in a swanky restaurant.
Fuck that.
Fun fact.
When James Cameron was making Aliens, he filmed the scene when the marines all came out of stasis last.
He wanted all the banter and camaraderie to look genuine, so he waited until they'd been working together on set for months before doing it.

So just remember.
Roberto De Zerbi isn't James Cameron.
And we'll still be fucking wank, even after a sWanky meal.

I wondered where you were going with that!

Good film though!

Very appropriate for our situation.

I like this. He’s basically saying to those useless fucks upstairs “You’d better not fuck me around this summer. Do exactly what I want to this squad or lose me.”

As a few of us have been saying. Don't give the guy a huge contract and then play fcuking silly buggers.

Like us and if we go down, De Zerbi won't want to spend a moment longer than necessary in the Championship

As Viv Nicholson did, Spend, Spend, Spend. Google it.

He is already laying the foundation to walk away in the summer.
nice GIF

All I've heard this season is injuries, loses, and meals. We don't win and it's as though the good feelings from would be wins are being substituted with team meals. So eating sponge pudding and custard is like scoring a goal vs Sunderland? Now I know the secret of football management, get the players to eat nice food together, and conflate the delicious flavour with the feeling of winning. The you simply approach the next match as though you won the last one, which was disguised as eating a meal.

She ended up right where she started IIRC ,

Had a fun ride though.

Indeed she did. Was true to her word.

On De Zerbi my one rider is he needs to deliver. It's not as simple as saying it will be his relationship with the board that determines his stay.

He will need to produce and show the fans the respect they deserve, and part of that will ne making decisions the fans understand.

Playing Muani and Gallagher, who I openly thought would be a good signing, is one thing. If both perforn poorly, get picked again and play just as poorly, fans will rightly start to ask questions.

I doubt that. He knew what players we had when he was signed.

I think he's laying the foundation to press the board to invest in creating a winning squad and change the culture at the club to be centered on football and I hope he succeeds.

ENIC should be worried that another manager will throw up his hands due to their lack of ambition.

They should be worried that they could find themselves in the Champo and with a manager who's suddenly walked away in midsummer.

ENIC should be afraid and kept afraid.

I want those bastards checking under their beds every night for RDZ.

100% this........ I think.

Amd De Zerbi won't walk but he might agitate as in what Maresca did.

The bottom line is the board and De Zerbi, as much as is practicable need to be on the same page.

It's in everyone's interests that they are.
