Independent have also stated here it's £13,000,000 upfront and the rest depending on targets.

Telegraph also reporting the same thing.

Daily Mail and Daily Mirror too:

£26,000,000 sounds cooler though in the context of Spurs spending £100,000,000 and failing to finish in the top five.

Makes you wonder why he is still here when clubs have been willing to pay pretty much what we paid initially, after two years of being an absolute dud?

Also funny how those stories only came out 2 years later when we are trying to flog him for relative peanuts without looking like total cunts...

The telegraph one was posted months after he had signed.

And as has been pointed out, we have no idea what the conditions of the payment plan was, or what we have paid since then.

We do know his fee was £26M, and we paid 13M up front. Thats where it ends, but I highly doubt they let the top scorer in Spain go for that.

I guess we'll never find out - What I think we can all agree on though is even if it was £13,000,000 and it was based on targets which weren't met, he's still been disappointing and a massive waste of money based on his career with us.

According to this there were no performance based add ons. 12 million euros up front with 6 million a year for the next 3 years.

It was paid in euros and the exchange rate now is more favourable than it was. See article above - it sounds about right.

I have noticed that if players are popular and play utterly terrible, people start reaching for other players who are terrible to put in the same thread.

"Soldado? Well, what about Rasiak?"

It's like a security blanket of avoidance. Bye Soldado. You probably cost us 15 million in wasted money, and way more than that because you may have cost us 4th but at least you had a nice twitter account and are pleasant to look at.

"Did you know Pav's favorite show was saved by the bell?"

May not have worked out but wish Bobby nothing but the best. A genuinely lovely fella who did nothing but care about this club and the fans.

Will never forget the ovation and emotional response when he got that league goal after his drought.

Best of luck at Villarreal Bobby Soldier.

Well said. Completely agree.

The funniest real heat map ever, what a team player.

Gerrard's red card still tops it for me.
