Typical January signings in other words...hopefully Conte can get a tune of them, I'm not going to write them as easily as that...

Nobody should be writing them off. But on paper they are two mediocre signings. Aston Villa have signed Coutinho and Digne, Newcastle Guimaraes, Trippier and Burn, Liverpool Luis Diaz... Signings to genuinely be somewhat excited about.

We currently only have 1 cm in skipp that can do a job. We need proper improvement signings not much of the same imo.

Disagree. PEH isn’t a perfect player but he’s still a very solid one. Probably shouldn’t be playing every minute like he has for us the past two years but he would get into a lot of good sides. I don’t get this obsession with acting like any player who isn’t world class is crap or championship level. We definitely need a more technical player in the squad but he’s a good all around player who can do different roles. Winks also has been solid under Conte. The obsession with acting like young players are always better is so stupid as well. Skipp played in the championship last year. PEH started every game in the EPL. He was a major player for Denmark at the Euros. He just has a larger body of work to pick out his bad games and harp on those. Skipp is a great player too with a bright future but every player will go through ups and downs but for some reason before we’ve seen the downs we act like they’ll never come.

Well if we say anyone can be made to look good in a highlights real even if they are crap, we better pray the opposite is true as well
Can’t be worse than N’dombele? though his skill set wasn’t in doubt it was his attitude! So you’ve a player less skill full but gives you a 100% or a guy with exceptional skills but only giving 50% or less what do you want…….

it’s not gonna work

I can’t recall the last time we signed a player who was slated to this extent before joining.
I can....

:adestare::gallashmm:

To he fair, I'm being a bit harsh.... as at the time of signing him, Ade had become a bit of an anti-hero after winding up the Gooners at the Etihad...
He was their public enemy #1....
And as the old saying goes:
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend"

...I still don't think he was our most popular signing, mind you! ...it was hardly Klinsmannia, was it?

The thing I like about Hojbjerg is he doesn't find his way onto the other team's highlight reel. Solid player who can go out and get the ball back. I also think he's got a little more of an attacking game than he's shown based on how he looked playing for Denmark. Bentancur should help both Skipp an PEH. Skipp will get more chances to go forward and Hojbjerg won't wear down late in the season from not being able to get off the field. Spurs still need creativity in mid-field but that may be a summer project. Then again, we don't know what will happen tomorrow. Maybe there is more help on the way.
