I'd play him over palhinha any day. Palhinha just goes around tackling everywhere as if he needs to live up to his reputation, but doesnt cover his own position well enough

he cant actually run can he, he tried sprinting back earlier and it was comical, he was on CHO for the second goal, hes done a simple little cut back and thats put bentancur about 3m away from him looool what chance have we got when this is the level of midfielder who starts week in week out.
He's got long legs and struggles to turn as quickly as the smaller attacking players. I guess he was ok today, but was hard to say he offered anything at all for us in attack. There's obviously better defensive CMs out there too.
What does this guy bring to the table? He's slow, can't pass forwards, offer little protection to the back four. In a nutshell what is the point in him?

100%. He just seems to be "there" in the midfield not doing much of anything really. A complete nothing player these days.
I mean you cannot be mad at being on 11th place with Bentancur the main midfielder.
This is his absolute maximum. He never has been better than bottom half midfielder. Not disciplined enough in defense, not creative enough on the ball, requires 20 sqmeters of room around him to be able to turn with the ball, constant hiding. This is Benta in nutshell.
It is absolutely no coincidence that in the season we finished 5th he almost did not play. And in this purple-patch of a run of 10 games without defeat he played combined 1 minute.
Now it is decision time - either we accept bottom half finish.
Or we drop Bentancur as emergency cover. Ball in Franks court.
