He's the best player we have in midfield that has any ability to keep the ball and have a semblance of control. Obviously leagues below where he was before the ACL. Pairing him with Palinha in a double pivot was an impossible job. Hope to see him and Gray start going forward.soon as he went off, lost control. If he and Xavi played more together I think we’re not in this position. Got scapegoated wrongly by people jumping on the bandwagon and not understanding what they’re watching
I told people to lay off this guy.He was really good, showed real composure. There’s a reason we haven’t won a game since he got injured.
If he can give us 90 minutes in the rest of the matches we have a small chance to survive.

It's not down to two 20 years olds that we are shit, if anything the club has let them down by putting them amongst such shit senior pros! He’s fucking shite. He’s just not embryonic shite line Gray or Bergval.
And they are three of the many reasons why we are collectively shit and have been for quite a while.
Top 6 midfielder? Hes never been that in his career. Ever. Not even in Italy.
I thought he was brilliant today
Maybe it would have been a different story if he came back a few weeks ago
The problem has been combinations all season.soon as he went off, lost control. If he and Xavi played more together I think we’re not in this position. Got scapegoated wrongly by people jumping on the bandwagon and not understanding what they’re watching
I always felt it had to be one or the other, not both of them playing in that midfield 2.The problem has been combinations all season.
IE, playing Bentancur and Palinha in the 2.
Made the game horrible to watch and limited us going forward.
When we had Kudus, we at least had a decent outlet though.
Yesterday he was playing with Bissouma who's a little more energetic than Palinha and had Xavi and Gallagher ahead running their socks off.
And that was the change yesterday. Like for like rather than trying to force them into the same team.I always felt it had to be one or the other, not both of them playing in that midfield 2.
Bissouma and Bentacur should both be starters also inthe games to come. Not gonna go as far as BC, as I thought he was solid today, and think he was genuinely decent in his initial pre-injury spell.
However, I think his performance today was the minimum we should be expecting from our CMs rather than standout. By PL standards it was a very normal midfield performance, but we've become so used to mediocrity in that area of the field it felt like he was better than he was.
Him and Biss do, at least, seem to be able to do the bare essentials De Zerbi is asking of his midfielders. Overall our midfield looked so much more competent than the Gray/Gallagher pairing did against Sunderland, and it gives me some hope for the remainder of the season.
It’s about combinations and relationships on the pitch definitely. I think we were turgid because of Frank mainly. I reckon if we had a spine of Romero, Bentancur, Xavi and Solanke playing the majority of games we wouldn’t be in this position. All can handle the ball, composed, generally don’t fritter it away under pressure. Just a gut feeling DeZerbi would have got those players looking really good. Just been a season of bad timing and poor decisions. The problem has been combinations all season.
