Not having this, he isn't even a bad player let alone one of our worst ever - he had good games against league winners like Salah and Mahrez.

He is though unfortunately permanently crocked, and a player who is always injured is of no use to us.
He's had plenty of meh games too.
Playing less than a handful of decent games, even if you've only ever played 30 or so, doesn't make you a good footballer. Just means you had a moment.

Makes you wonder if he had too much football too young and it’s contributed to these injuries. I’ve said it before but a 16/17 year old kid shouldn’t be playing men’s football. It’s just not physically or mentally fair really if you think about it.

The fact that these kids nowadays are in about academies from such an early age and train 4 times a week and play must be an issue for some later in their careers. Sess may be one of those

It's always been a problem for pacey players who break through young. Lennon, Owen, Walcott, etc all playing mens football at 16 and all struggled well before their 30th birthday with repeated injuries.

That's just a few PL era players but it's everywhere you go. Brazilian Ronaldo another one springing to mind.

Even if Sess was not a crock his ceiling was as a distinctly average player.

We had our pants pulled down after one good season as a back post tap in merchant in the Championship.

Crystal Palace would be his level but pay-as-you-play in Championship is now it for him. Join Japh at Millwall.

I don’t think a manager at that level would take him. The championship is a tough league and is unforgiving if you are not at it as you see teams down the bottom can beat the top teams. What is Sess bringing to that level? No manager would be able to trust him.

130m on Ndombele, Lo Celso and Sess.

Hitchens should be tried for war crimes.
We loved that window when it closed. 2 of the best up and coming creative midfielders in Europe and Sessegnon was rated by just about everyone.

All 3 have had stretches where they showed why we bought them - Sess was brilliant in the run in of 22/23.

Players don’t want to be injured and I reckon him playing so much men’s football before he actually finished growing played its part.

The bloke is 23 years old. 23. Most people just beginning their lives in the workforce and figuring out how to be an adult at that age. And it feels like he's lived a full career and life as a jaded veteran already.

This is really sad, more than anything.

To be fair to him he’s not giving up and trying to find a solution but it doesn’t look good. I still think there’s something in kids playing too much too young and it being too serious from an early age. The pressure on young kids having to turn up and train 4 nights a week and play at weekends is a big ask. Maybe Sess is one of the ones that it’s caught up with. Maybe he’s not and his body just isn’t up to the rigours of full time football.

I played football with a guy years ago and his hamstrings would go all the time and had to retire in his mid twenties after years of struggling to keep fit. He was an animal and was full bloodied in how he played but his body just wouldn’t let him do it consistently
