I have a soft spot for both Edinburgh clubs but, after the recent derby Hibs fans put on a quality show. One of the best anthems in football for me and sounds great being belted out by a proper football crowd.

Yep, it's an absolute banger for n anthem. Pretty jealous of it tbh. Hearts have a great song called 'Hearts of Glory' that I think they should play over the tannoys. Pays respect to the remarkable players of Hearts of Midlothian who joined up to fight in the Great War.

I've never really followed any Scottish team so its a case of which ones outside the old Firm playing the best footie.

back in the day of Fergie at Arberdin and Mad Jim McLean at Dundee Utd I rooted for them as they were such underdogs. A few years ago I posted an article about Jim McL which is bloody hilarious - "Git Bannon aff!!!" - what an eccentric. And Dundee Utd were way smaller than AFC too.

I can usually find a reason to like anyone of the non-Old Firm teams - Hearts and Dave MacKay, Dundee and Gilzean, Falkirk and John White, AFC and the Spurs connection, possibly Archibald, Partick Thistle because of that amazing 4-0 over Celtic in the final. Falkirk and Dundee in Navy Blue too.

When I moved to Edinburgh as a stoodent a mate of mine was a Jam Tart, and I too have soft spot for them, and Hibs, now. They were both pretty dire then and I never even bothered going to watch them, not even when Best pitched up for Hibs. Considering I would always go to any game in England that I could involving Spurs (or my local at the time 2nd team Palace) I cant understand why I never popped across to Glasgow for an Old Firm match. A mate at the footie Thurs was in Newcastle for 3 years and never once saw the Barcodes. Weird.

I'm wittering on. Back to the rugby...

and yes great song.Must look up that Hearts one now
Edit: its been posted lol!

what a great song, thanks for posting, agree should be over the Tannoy. Do the fans sing it? Good chorus but prob a bit tricky for fans. Better than that Flower of Scotland they sing at Murrayfield too.

Have a few Hearts supporting mates and they say it has been sung in pubs from time to time but it just really hasn't taken off and been sung at the games. Which is why the club should play it on the tannoy... the wider support would soon learn the words.

Doubt there'd be a more honourable song sung by a fanbase in Britain if 'Heart's of Glory' became a popular song of choice for the Gorgie boys.

Discussions been happening for months now. Going to have to wait though, as there’s a possible issue with Leeds, who they also own. If they don’t get promoted, the purchase is off, as EFL club owners can’t own another British club. If they get promoted, however, they can, as the EPL has no such rule.
Are there any owners who own two British clubs?

As Eli says, Tony Bloom is trying to buy a stake in Hearts, but not yet done. Not sure what’s taking so long, as the last Hearts AGM voted in favour of it. This is allowed, as Brighton are EPL. I imagine he’d have to sell up if they ever got relegated.

Other than that, I think the Rangers / Leeds / 49ers thing would be the only other one that’s in the offing. Would be a strange one for me, as it would be basic admission that Leeds weren’t ever to get promoted.

That's 100% not going to be an issue whether Leeds get promoted or not. Media have done a little shit stirring on that front but it's not an issue.

What exactly is embarrassing about being "anti-woke"?
I think the fact that the Union Bears are dragging this kind of politics into football is the embarrassing bit, not the actual message. I love the colour and noise the UB bring to the Rangers support but they really need to leave their politics at the turnstiles. If they are THAT passionate about these kind of issues they should join Reform and campaign on their behalf.
