Celtic ran out winners because the manager said ‘ If you win I want you to run out of the stadium with a big banner proclaiming the fact and chanting ‘we are winners, therefore we can run out of the stadium as winners.'

This will unequivocally prove that you are winners because the other team were not. They will therefore stay in the stadium lamenting the fact that they cannot claim the above. This is a fundamental universal truth

They can however claim the mantle of ‘plucky losers.’ Which is universally accepted as underdogs by the British psyche.

I hope that this 20th Century logic explains everything.

Well Celtic fans all think they're Irish anyway. Hence them being pro IRA.
My father is Irish and I was raised a Catholic, played a bit of Gaelic Football and hurling for a North London GAA club as a kid. I can’t abide Celtic though and everything that goes with them. Or Rangers obviously either. I was really hoping Hearts would do it all season.

Edinburgh Hibernian were the original Irish Catholic team in Scotland anyway, founded 13 years before Celtic in 1875. Hibs don’t go on with all that tiresome paddywhackery nonsense that Celtic fans do.

Celtic party…..

I’m no Celtic fan (well I was yesterday) but that would be the same for any teams victory party in the uk. Says more about scummy British behaviours and lack of respect for their communities and cities.
Well that’s sad but then again if McLean, Beaton, Collum & Dallas hadn’t hatched their wee plan to shaft Hearts and in giving the great unwashed a helping hand to win the league yesterday, if they’d lost as they should have the aftermath would have been even worse so every cloud, eh!

Currently in Dundee so this morning we took a trip up to see Dundee's and Dundee Uniteds grounds which are literally a goal kick apart. Able to gain access pitch side at both.
Dundee beat Aberdeen 3.2 later on.
Dundee has some nice parts but a lot of not so nice.

Your last sentence should be the tag line on tourist info posters.

The area around the stadiums particularly fall into the latter.

I'd never thought about the possible origins of that word until just now...

I'd assumed paddywhack was a nonsense word that followed "Nik-Nak" in the nursery rhyme...
But does it actually have PRO IRISH roots?
