I wonder what happened with Southampton ticket prices. As they are still getting the same attendance numbers in the Championship as they did in the PL.

According to a AI search.. Completely different startign position though price-wise.

✅ 2025/26 Season Ticket Prices (After Relegation)

Renewal Prices (paid in full)

Southampton announced a 5% reduction on the previous season’s prices for renewing supporters.
These apply to fans who held season tickets the year before and pay in full before the renewal deadline.

New Season Ticket Prices (paid in full)

The Daily Echo article contains the pricing table but not the exact numerical tiers within the text extract. It confirms:
  • New adult tickets start from under £20 per match
  • New under‑14 tickets start from about £3 per match

While the exact numeric full‑season totals for new buyers are not printed in the extract, the club’s pricing guide page was published (but its text does not list the amounts directly). [southamptonfc.com]

Split Payment Prices

Split payments incur a 5% premium, and the examples given include:
  • A £455 renewal ticket becomes £477.75 when paid via monthly instalments. [dailyecho.co.uk]

The primary benefits to a season ticket are

- Guaranteed tickets for derby/top tier matches where tickets are scarce
- Access to tickets for late stage cup games

There won’t be any derbies or top tier teams.
What’s the point of pre paying for a ST if neither apply and you can easily pick up tickets anyway?

It’s a guaranteed way to lose money if you are unable to attend a few matches
The only benefit really is keeping your seat and your place in the queue in terms of loyalty points. We come up in a season and you might struggle to get another st

Boro currently have the most expensive season ticket in the Champo
£620

Southampton, who were in the PL 1 year ago are only 5th at £475

And ours is over £2k

The club really had no fucking inclination this was coming and, as a result, will lose obscene amounts of money.
I can't believe anyone in their right mind renews at even 4 figures, let alone £2k+
If my £1,220 ticket was offered to me for £500, I'd need a few weeks to mull it over tbh.

Plus there'd be no reason to have a ticket exchange of course. Nobody is buying our tickets off us, when we cant go, if we go down.

The thing about season tickets is the certainty of income banked before the season starts. That money is probably all gone if we go down. Most wont renew, we will just by game by game. They will have to make it favourable to have season tickets if they think along these lines. So will have to reduce the prices. But this is ENIC we are talking about, my ticket is the same price as yours, can you see them even halving the price? Will the brains trust that run the club even realise they need us more than ever now? I'm very sceptical.

Yeah, I'm sick of going to games because I can't sell them.
The amount of time and effort for me to go to each game is not reciprocated by the board or the players.

Do they not know who you are? You are a TV personality now. You should be getting a discount.

That's gone over my head, not afraid to admit it.

Aren't away tickets £25 per match? So if numbers are down they could just extend the away section. Whilst some teams could not fill it there are still some clubs with decent support.

Lincoln will bring plenty . And I’m not joking . Same goes for our friends in SE16 .

It will like a Cup-Final for many of them in fact . The stadium , the opponent , getting to see what street-lighting looks like ……. it would be a big draw for many , I suspect .

Unless I'm very much mistaken, weren't you on TV at the game the other week? ;-)
You're very much mistaken :roflmao:
I'm curious who was though ?
Me too. In my head, it was you. But someone commented about being a meme after being caught on the TV at the Palace game (think it was Palace...)
I've had a senior moment thinking you were the fella.

Unless I've made it all up. I don't know whether I'm coming or going these days.
I think I've realised where the confusion originated.... Matt1882 Matt1882 ....

The irony that I'm also
called Matt in real life hasn't escaped me....

Twas my angry mug on TV I'm afraid! 😡

Just for clarity, no multi... we're not the same person!

Does that help?

You can see my confusion

But, thanks for clarifying!

Were you angry IN the stadium or caught on the way out?
I was off out of there on 55 minutes. I was half expecting to find I'd been filmed sneaking out and didn't know about it.
But nobody here knows what I look like so I was really confused :roflmao:
