Match Sheff Utd vs Yid Army FA Cup Wed 1 March 2023

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There will be no consequences, these types of performances are not a shock instead expected.
The club is deeply ingrained in failure, this result will just be put on the roll of honour, alongside previous meek efforts.
No point being annoyed anymore, I fully expect to be beaten in this fashion on a regular basis.
Makes me think of what Poch said about needing to change our mentality throughout the club, from the players, to the fans to the tea lady and how it would be a long difficult journey. We lost sight of that and tried to go the quick way - I think he was right. We all need to grow together and accept we need to take the time to refocus and build.

(Not advocating for Poch back but certainly his intentions on growth and change - can’t see another way)

No one need analyse the game.

It's mentality because those players like years before were better than our opponents on paper.

Exits to lower-ranked teams all too often says one thing.

Pathetic but predictable. No change. No surprise.

Context is like an annual vaccine so it works very quickly to soothe any pain.

Combinations of these players have beaten City, Chelsea and West Ham in recent weeks.

Stellini said after the game it's a mentality issue and they they thought they just had to turn up.

Sounds like it is on the players somewhat.

This "lesser opposition" thinking saw us lose to Wolves, Brighton, Southampton before we went on a long run to get top four. Lose to "inferior" teams in three out of four competitions under Conte.

Of course the manager picks the team, and we can talk all day about Conte's wank and inflexible tactics, but these players should have offered more and turned up. They didn't.

But then you buy the bond or you rid a core component or 2. Only way.

From the start of the knockout stages to the end of the season, this was our league form..

12 league games played
3 wins
2 draws
7 losses
0 away wins
13 goals scored
14 goals conceded

And playing some of the most horrendous, mundane football I've ever seen.

There's no way, in the league especially, we are worse now than we were in the latter stages of Pochs final full season for us.

That Champions League campaign papered over every single crack possible.

Our league form was absolutely dog shit second half of the season, and a fortunate and luck filled run to a champions league final masked it. We scraped top four because of our early season form that year. It was four years ago, maybe you forgot.
No I didn't, that team would thrash the current one. We are a barely functional defensive team with no creativity or threat the moment Kane is rested. Without him we are pointless as a top flight football team as we offer little or no threat. Scarily we seem to be managed by someone who seems incapable of recognising it

We had no Kane

Stellini saying that team should have been strong enough.

I think what he's missing is that it's not so much that individually the players coming in aren't good enough, it's more that if you make 5 or 6 changes in one go you disrupt the team balance. Too many new partnerships all over the pitch.

That team put out last night playing front foot attacking football with a good attitude wins the game. But no these players that have never won anything still think theyre too good to mske an effort

Was 8 changes I think? Ridiculous. Have they not studied the impact of playing the walking dead like Sanchez and co. Year after year these divs hamper us

I just can't get my head around not starting Kane. He has played the full 90 mins in every game he has played since the world cup...Why leave him on when we are losing 4-1 to Leicester or beating West Ham 2-0 but rest him for this? He started at home to Portsmouth FFS. Why not start him and then bring him off if we get a 2 goal cushion? Instead we still bring him on for 30 - if he scores at the end that would have been an extra 30 too. 😤

The sad thing is that I am numb to it. In days gone by I would be properly pissed off and miserable after a game like that. Now, 5 mins after the game I am already in 'whatever' mode.

Mourinho, Nuno and Conte, under the patronage of Levy, have totally killed the passion.

Football is supposed to be fun, not an expensive chore.

Because of our wank tactics and poor squad depth we aren't in a position to effectively rotate players.

We got Danjuma for what, exactly? Son - despite being benched - is still getting a fair amount of minutes when it's clear he's gassed.

If the players are getting decent minutes in important games, making wholesale changes wouldn't be as much of an issue.

It’s telling that I wasn’t even that angry at the performance and result because it’s just so predictable. It will never change while the same fuck wits like Eric dier, Davidson Sanchez and Ben Davies are playing for us.

Any lingering doubts about whether Forster is good enough have surely been put to bed as well.
