Match Sheffield United vs Tottenham Hotspur | Sunday 17th Jan, KO: 14:00

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Standard. Normal for football forums to be busier when shit goes wrong. People want to vent more.
Exactly. Football fans vent frustration, always have, even pre internet you'd get it at the boozers aftet a game and with work colleagues. Its not some great big conspiracy to persecute a manager. It was more watchable today but it was hardly perfect. I still dont think we're getting as much out of the team as the sum of its parts , let alone more.

I don't want to be that guy, but I really don't know what to make of this result as it was against Sheffield. I guess outside of a 5-0 romp nothing would have got my hopes up for the near term future. I hope we turned the corner, and obviously these next 5 PL games will be huge in determining our title aspirations, which I don't give much hope for, but really feel a top 4 would be huge for us.

They haven’t conceded 5 since Nov 2017.

Let’s see how we do over the next 5 games.

Like you say though, to get back in the CL is huge, especially with fans back in the stadium next year.

We attacked lads!!!

Although, don't let Jose fool anyone, as after Tanguy scored he was screaming "lock the door"!!! He's a fucking liar when he says he doesn't want us to sit back.

Tanguay MOTM what a fucking player, not just for the goal of the season contender but my god he was unplayable. He's why we pay money to watch football! Beautiful baller.

It wasn't vintage, still thought we coughed up too many opportunities to a shit side but big shout to Bergwijn who I thought was excellent today.

Up the Spurs!
There is however, to his credit, a difference between "locking up" when you have a 2 goal lead and when you have a 1 goal one.

The issue to me at least is not that we fall back and play defence, but that we do it after only scoring one goal.

Exactly. Parking the bus with a two goal lead is understandable. Doing it with just a one goal lead is reckless.

I swear his old Chelsea side used to play that way - push to create a decent lead then close the game down.

We have been trying that in these games, but tiring. We had stupid shots against Newcastle and should have been well out of sight against Fulham. But we need to not be closing the game out until it’s ready to

Living on past glories.

We hoped it would be different, it hasn't worked out.
I agree on the pitch, but we can't possibly understand the influence of him and Hart et al. in the dressing room / training. Today was a stroll but I'm starting to feel like we might only concede to perfect goals from the oppo.

If the Dippers vs. ManUre was anything to go by we should be backing ourselves. Unlikely to win it, but if we don't Dare then we will never Do.

Yup. And realistically that should be our goal with how we play.

Get 2-3 goals, close it down. His Inter side had a lot of 1-0 wins but that of course comes with much more tension among the fans.

Jose doesn't do "champagne football". But with a few tweaks he will most likely have us playing "effective" football.

I’ll take ye having a moan than nothing at all. Team are trying and deserve more!

Only really had two issues in that game and that was Dier getting beaten in the air again and Lucas' sub performance, I thought he was poor tbh and if he is at the point where he's our first attacking sub, we may find to be in trouble at some point. Need to give Vinicius more minutes.

Beyond that though. I thought everyone played well. Liked Davies at left centre back and always have. They were absolutely frightened of Reguilon and Davies covered well.
Davies beaten in the air on Sheffield Utd’s goal, no?
