If I was Levy, I’d bring in Poch because it looks like that will buy him time and adulation with many fans. But I just don’t see it working. The reality is that him or anyone else coming in will be purely to give air cover to our failed Chairman. It’ll be the same as years gone past at the end of the season with the Chairman’s message… “we continue to invest in a squad of top European talent and we look forward to challenging for trophies under Doesntmatter Fuckwholio playing with the style and flair that we all want to see. Have a great summer, yours, Daniel”. Renewals will come in aplenty. The hopeless dream story will continue. And it’ll all end in more tears, anger and frustration.

Tbh I think poch stands more a better chance than any other managers coming in. Iraola could do well imo. If poch came back I'm sure he would release Son, Davies, richarlison, bissouma and a few other players that would surprise people aka solanke and perhaps maddison.

In an interview with Sky News published on Tuesday, the Argentine coach said he still uses Spurs chairman Daniel Levy as a sounding board but he would not return to the club before leading the U.S. at a home World Cup next year.

"It's always about the timing," Pochettino said when asked if he there was ever a possibility he could be managing England rather than the U.S.

"I was talking with my former president Daniel Levy and he says always football is about timings and he always told me, 'Mauricio, always it's timing.'

"It's true because he has experience in football and it's a privilege to be head coach of the England national team but the timings sometimes are not in the same, in the moment that you can be available like this and this option disappears."

Levy has hired four permanent managers at Spurs since Pochettino's exit, with incumbent Ange Postecoglou under pressure amid a continued run of poor form.

When asked if the timing could ever align for a return to Spurs, Pochettino said: "Look, when I left the club I always remember one interview I said I would like one day to come back to Tottenham and that is of course."

"I am in the USA, I am not going to going to talk about that, but what I said then still after six years or five years, I still feel in my heart that, yes, I would like one day to come back. We see the timing, like Daniel said."

My theory;

I’m wondering whether maybe the reason we haven’t sacked Ange yet is because Levy is waiting until next year for the end of Poch’s USA contract? I’m guessing he would be reluctant to get rid of Ange just yet if that’s what he’s waiting for?

Is it just me, or is Germany especially good at producing and promoting young managers? Bundesliga 2 and even Bundesliga seem to be filled with those in their early 40s or even late 30s who have been on their respective jobs for several years already.

I'm not proposing that we should go full Brighton and bring some random guy from a lower league, but if Levy and co are in fact looking for a young/project manager -whatever that entails- then they can certainly do worse than keep an eye on some of the people over there.

Tin hat theory time from me

After seeing the pic of Poch and Levy at a cafe in London, and it being widely determined by the detectives in our fanbase that it had to have been taken after Summer 2024 (when that particular cafe opened)

I’m wondering whether maybe the reason we haven’t sacked Ange yet is because Levy is waiting until next year for the end of Poch’s USA contract? I’m guessing he would be reluctant to get rid of Ange just yet if that’s what he’s waiting for?
Cripes another season of this bozo?!

However much Levy may want Poch back, I can’t see him sacrificing next season and the chance of another bottom half finish, especially if there’s rumours of a potential minority buy in.

I would definitely like Poch back but if it means I have to suffer this shit another year then no, absolutely not worth it.

Probably desperately hoping that Ange can turn it around.

He’s buggered if he has to sack Ange now and wait a year for Poch

But any other Spurs manager would have got the bullet long before now :kanehand:
Maybe he’s been talked round by Lange/Munn to relax his trigger finger under the advice that we’ll find it easier to recruit who we want at the end of the season.

The optics of firing him with so many injuries may also have been a consideration, and there was the hope he may have turned it around with players back.

Who knows, but I’ll guess we’ll find out in the next couple of months.

Think it’s a good option of having Pochettino for the future if it’s true he wants back and Levy has a good relationship with him that’s fine but a new manager with fresh ideas is the best way for just now. I wanted Postecoglou to work was neither in or out up til this point but it’s gone stale there is no sign of improvement even winning a game is no straightforward for us it’s not a routine win we’ve to have some sort of drama involved either go a goal down or we’re two up then concede 10minutes to go and it turns into a slog and the opposition can sense our arses are on the verge of collapsing.

Thing they do well in Germany is ensure opportunities for their young coaches and managers.

If McKenna was German, he'd be guaranteed a big club taking him on after what he's done at Ipswich.

If I'm honest, Mckenna would be above Iraola or Silva for me as well. Not my first choice but if we are taking a punt on a coach from the PL, why not?
