Match Spam vs Thee Mighty Tottenham Hotspur

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There's a reason why simeone let go off Toby, matches like these requires players who runs through brick walls for the manager, just felt like Toby gets panicked typically in all crucial matches and not to his usual standards, which makes our defence looks suspect. And Walker should be embarrassed that he put this team in such awkward position. Felt sorry for all the other lads. Future is bright, just hoping this team to beat the shit out of holding champions.
You mean like Toby panicked in the NLD?

Think you're talking nonsense. If he's not good enough then neither is any defender in the league.

I don't want to come across as numb, but surely I can't be the only one glad to shake off the "title" talk?

There's no way in hell we were ever going to get more points than Chelsea, given their run in. It's been torturous starting to believe, but like Carragher said the other day - we've just not had the luck these last two seasons. We've played brilliantly, won more points already than have won the league previously, and yet it's not been enough to win the title.

Can we get on with enjoying our last few games, especially at WHL, and celebrate finishing 2nd? Yes, it's painful to lost against the gloating caravanners, but it's about par for the course.

It's a young team - they'll learn and we'll be stronger for it.
Exactly. Instead of winning it against Watford, now Chelsea will win it 3 days earlier basically.

We have no business even being where we are. By all rights, it's been an utterly magnificent season as we've punched well above our weight, and should be ever so proud of that, even though no one out there will give us the credit we deserve. But you just can't help feeling like it could have been so much more...

Let's hope we hold it all together and keep the show on the road next season. Stronger than ever.

Come On You Spurs.

We still beat Woolwich last week, so thank fuck we didn't lose to our local rivals, that would have hurt. You know, if you have to lose one of the two games everyone would take this one. No one can take that away from us, finishing above the scum. I'm not sure when we mathematically finished above West Ham but I'm sure it was some time ago.

We were not poor tonight (we have played better, granted). But we weren't poor. A team set them selves up to beat us,and they did. But it could have easily been a result in our favour. FFS people, it was a London derby against a mob that always ,always want to beat us. Was never never going to be a walk over. COYS

Not sure what more we can do.

The context is 27 points out of 30. Every team would swap those stats for ours but of course the next few minutes, hours, weeks and days will bring recrimination, blame, anger and speculation. Impossible to dismiss.

We have kicked on since last season and that is without doubt.

I think it's the losing that hurts me more because once again we need a point to secure what would confirm our place as the 2nd best team this season and yet once again we are going to have to wait until our next game before and if that happens.

I am absolutely certain though that this time Pochettino and the players will make sure that happens. I just wanted us to make sure Chelsea won it as opposed to us losing it, not that the league was ours to give away.

Chin up everyone. Got to win one more for runners up which would be no mean feat. First time in my life and many here I suspect. Just not our day today...

Even watching the game, fine there is a scoreline in the top left and I was disappointed......
but I couldn't help look at that stadium, the sheer distance the fans are, the off green to the sides of the pitch, it must be really hard to swallow. Plus the fact they were so happy with their one result this season, so proud to be who we are, when mid table is your ceiling, Jesus must be terrible

One spot higher each season COYS
We were mid table for years so we know how it feels to take little victories like that but now we are of such a pedigree we are a very large scalp to those like spam

This smells heavily of desperately searching for a narrative to fit a loss.
