The only way I can see VAR having a legit use is with a challenge system like in tennis. This farce has gone on far to long.

Not for offside calls, it either is or isn't on those decisions.

It can be as marginal as you like, but if they decide it's a mm offside then it gets ruled out.

There are SO many examples of winning ugly, in the last minute, even though you stunk the place out for 89 minutes (how else do you think George Graham's ArseAnal won everything they did?)

Yes, we played badly in the 1st half, but fuck me we rallied in the 2nd, and kept on RIGHT until the end.... when, let's face it, Fergie's Utd or Klopp's Liverpool REGULARLY won late on.... and were lauded for it...

But when WE do it, and it's inevitably disallowed, we somehow got what we deserved?!

Nah mate, fuck that... we were denied an unlikely, undeserved win.... but guess what, it happens to PLENTY of other teams.... and they get away with it!! fuck it, for a split second we were through, until VAR decided otherwuse.... and for now we're not.... Yet...

Fucking hurts tonight, but we need to USE it.... not feels sorry for ourselves!

Let’s say Royal passes it back and a defender deflects it to Kane, who was offside when Royal attempted the backward pass. Is that offside?

If it is, it would be a ridiculous rule. If it’s not, we were robbed.

I don't think so as a 1 nil loss and a draw for Sporting V Eintracht puts us all on 8 points.

Eintracht would be out as they have the worst goal difference...... Sporting and us would both have zero goal difference so it would then go to the results between us and Sporting and they have better results over the 2 games we played them.

Best we could get with a loss would be Europa - in fact I think we're guaranteed Europa if we lose by 1 goal or less..... Whoopee......

Well, that was certainly a game of two halves! Utter toilet in the first and so much better, dare I say exciting, in the second. We deserved the victory and to have it snatched away in such a cruel way is what makes football such a heartbreaking experience on occasions.
Just having a consolation V&T before we leave, unfortunately not free tonight.
Marseille, lock up your daughters, we're coming for you!

Brilliantly summed up. As far as the officials are concerned, their interpretation was offside. Whether we layman agree or not is irrelevant. But you’re right why are Spurs relying on decisions to win a game. Brian Clough once commented that ref’s decisions affect moments in a game, his teams had the rest of the 90 minutes to win It.

No needs to go challenge system is not a solution (it's worse imo) as blatent ones if no challenges left still are not corrected. In this case every chance they have a challenge and this shit still happens.
