Happy with that. Only real weakness is RB but its a chance for KWP or Aurier to make it their own.
The only other things I can think of is if kane is injured we don't have a proper striker but instead son/lucas who can go up top. I go back & forth on whether to stick with son/lucas OR get a proper striker as back up.
Creativity was lacking last season so hopefully ndombele & lo celso will bring some of that?
Only really george who isn't wanted on that list. wanyama's injuries seems to have made him passed it for us. & although lamela is a pretty good player he isn't 1 of our better players & is way too injury prone for me.

Good number 1 & solid back up. settle for rose & davies as LB. jan & toby great CB partnership & sanchez is pretty good, just needs to keep developing & learning. Good options in midfield & attack. More options for poch too.

Hopes-
Dele & dier stay fit. Both have had a summer off for a change so hopefully we see the real dele & dier.
Aurier has been up & down but keeps picking up regular injuries. So I am hoping if he stays fit he settles & gets a big run of games & becomes a solid RB for us. Winks not getting a big injury every season! As he looks so neat & tidy & class on the ball. Also would like to see how KWP, parrot & skipp do with a bit more game time.

Really hope we keep eriksen, toby & rose too!

25 man squad, surprised they have named Skipp, Sessegnon and Foyth as being u21' they don't need to do so

For completeness think you need to add Whiteman as 3rd GK, Parrott as possible striker cover and depending on loans ( or not) possibly Tanganga, White and Roles all of whom did well in preseason and being u21' do not need to be named in PL squad.

Does anyone else think it's interesting that neither new boy decided to take the (available) number 9.

I wonder if there's a decent reason for that...

- was 9 pencilled in for Dybala if we had pulled that transfer off?
- has another existing player nabbed it in Janssen's departure?
- did they simply not want to take a 'starting XI' number as they are only new to the team?

Just curious. Funnily enough, I wouldn't mind at all if Kane decided to swap from 10 to 9. I think the latter actually suits him better.

Think a number like that is reserved - even if we don't have a player lined up for it right now

Compared to this time last year we lost Dembele who is now replaced. Trippier who is replaced by Sessegnon meaning tha Foyth moves over to RB and either Dier or Davies covers CB. Llorente is replaced by a midfielder with Son and Moura covering Kane. Therefore numbers of outfield players maintained and incoming players hopefully will have a better outcome than those they replaced. Not replaced Vorm and I was sure we would bring an older GK in to cover and we did have a Southend GK on trial and not sure what happened there. Just pray we do not need a 3rd GK as we did last year as not convinced Whiteman is ready. Overall despite the number of injuries and suspensions at present added to having to intergrating new players in, am happy with outcome. We have 2 aging CB's and will need to not overplay them.

We can drop Wanyama from the CL squad. He does not look like getting a game anyway. Will Sissoko be fit enough to play? At Best it will be the final and will it be like Kane last year with him being not match fit. I do not see any reason we cannot add a foreign based player to the squad.

Yiu would probably need to drop him from both PL and CL squad....which may have consequences such as a claim for constructive dismissal and a claim to pay up the last couple of years of his contract at a cost of say £7m or more

Probably why we haven't done it before.

And why signing too many overseas trained players doesn't hapoen

One constraint on players in the squad has never troubled Spurs in the past - the number of loanees we have in the squad.

Maximum number of loanees we can have at one time is two (and no more than one from any one club). So unless we convert Lo Celso's loan to a permanent, with Gedson Fernandes signed on loan today, we cannot take any more players on loan.

Although we haven't seen a lot of Lo Celso think we've seen enough to pay the fee to make him permanent - then allows another low risk loan player to join us.

Two only applies to UK loans, we can take upto four overseas loans.

I think that Sissoko will not be included in the CL squad - as he's not back until April he could probably only play in semi final and final - to allow Gedson to be included.

Enough room in PL squad for Gedson as Davies counted as HG and Parrott as u21, still within the 17 overseas trained player limit.

Hopefully a deal being done to sell Wanyama or ano to allow a striker to join - only a few HG strikers around we'd want (eg Dembele at Lyon - ex Fulham - but Aulas said he's not going).

Davies is not considered HG in Europe.

2 years ago nobody on here, except me and a few others rated Henderson.

Now he is a 100 miles ahead of anything we have in terms of his impact on games.

Simply and without getting emotionally hooked up on it, contrast that with our midfielders.

If Mourinho can do anything I hope he is able to develop and sustain improvement in some players.

Sick to death of seeing players to backwards

So how it's looking going into the tail end of the 2019/2020 season I wonder how many will make the summer cull:

Lloris
Gazzaniga

Vorm
Aurier
Walker-Peters
Alderweireld
Vertonghen
Sanchez
Foyth
Tanganga
Rose
Cirkin
Davies
Dier

Wanyama
Winks
Skipp
Gedson Fernandes
Ndombele
Sissoko
Lo Celso

Eriksen
Dele
Son
Lucas Moura
Sessegnon
Lamela
Clarke
Kane
Parrott

I make it 8 potentially that have no future at the club under Mourinho. I like Foyth but I'm reading between the lines on that one. Potential loans for Cirkin, Skipp, Clarke & Parrott probably needed, the same perhaps with Tanganga as he's still only new into the first XI but I fancy he'll not be one out for a loan.

Some up for debate (Aurier, Vertonghen etc) but honestly I think I'd probably shift them for the much needed new blood in those positions.

Got a feeling Aurier will stay as back up at least.

So that is Striker, DM and RB required. I’d also imagine Lamela could be sold if there is anyone up for it.

UEFA rules
45.01 As of the round of 16, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registration must be completed by 3 February 2020 (24.00CET) at the latest. This deadline cannot be extended.

Why no announcement?

UEFA list updated to have 17 overseas players, but Vorm included as 3rd GK and Wanyama excluded, but Parrott excluded too !

Sissoko included although injured and not due back until April, who might have been possible to drop on that basis to include Parrott who we might want to play before April ! A real surprise Parrott not included, and he does not qualify this season as a List B u21.

Youngsters included on List B are Whiteman, Austin (although on loan), Tanganga, Eyoma (on loan) Bowen and White (plus of course Skipp) - other youngsters can be added up to 24 hours before a tie.
