Eh? We finished 5th in Postecoglou's first season and reached a semi-final in the League Cup and won the Europa League despite having an unprecedented injury crisis that went for 6 months last year.

Why on earth would we expect to just hang around the top half - especially when we've added Palinha, Simons, Kudus and not lost any first teamers?

Maddison's injury is a cruel blow but he was out for months in Postecoglou's first season and we still finished 5th

Just seems a weird lack of expectation

After Ange’s run out of the gate we were a 1 ppg squad.

Well I thought we played well but if you read some comments on here you would think it's the end of the world.
We dominated the early minutes then I think it was Destiny needlessly lost the ball and we got caught on the break, 2nd goal poor clearance by Lucas then a shot that many thought Vic should have done better. Possession 64% to us and Simons had two opportunities to score but fluffed both. We are not going to lose 17 PL matches this season.
 
We were clearly the better team and should have come away with the points. Let down by poor play at both ends of the pitch.
 
Frustrating because there was a lot of good to take from that and coming back from 2 down and we were tactically good enough for the win today. Let down by poor forward play all the way across the front and a goalkeeping error. Full backs and the midfield were spot on.

Odobert lost the ball, Udogie was our best player.
